Considering updating our garage and was hoping others may have gone down this road before…

I’m considering the standard epoxy route (professionally done as my garage floors are stained w/ oil) or installing some garage floor tiles Such as those from racedeck.com (see photo below)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

I need to epoxy mine to be honest and have delayed it for some time. I will wait till the fall however as it is way to warm in the south right now.

I am a huge fan of epoxy. You can get the Rustoleum kit and some etching solution for under $300, and can do the job in a weekend. I have used U-Coat-It at a previous house, and for almost double the overall cost I felt that the product and longevity of it was about the same.

I just had mine done. Epoxy kind of sucks from friends that have done it. Hot tires will peel it up after a few years. I am a diy kind of guy but the pros just have access to better stuff in this case it seems to me. So i went that route. They brought out a diamond grinder, ground the entire floor and stem walls. Then used a 2 coat thing of polyaspartic. They guarantee it for 15 years, from what I read it seems likely to last that long or longer. Im happy with.

I appreciate the feedback. Not sure it’s something I want to tackle on my own with how stained my floors are from the previous owner.

Sounds like epoxy is the way to go.

If you don't do the epoxy flake in tremor orange with the base color of your truck and a custom tremor logo, you're not really committed

😅

No. Not the epoxy. There is better stuff that the pros use. The stain does not matter. They will sand it all off anyway.
