I’m not 100% sure how long I’ll keep my truck and with the possibility of it getting wrecked it seems to me my best option is wait to just before factory warranty is up before paying for extended warranty. The plan I’m interested in will only cost $100.00 more if I wait .I feel like I might be missing something. I have a fully loaded 2022 tremor with 11,000 miles. I took delivery in May of 2022.

What plan is that? I may be interested as well.

It’s through Grainger out of Iowa. Best deal going. Do a search on this forum. They have a really cool sign up form showing the many options.

I saw that same deal too! I don't think you're missing anything. I'm just going to wait, see no reason to rush into it? Like you said, the cost difference in minimal and who knows what the future holds.

I got the 100k/7 year from Granger when I purchased. My thought was that it would not likely be cheaper down the road. It's transferable so it'll be a huge perk if I sell it before it's up. And I think (don't quote me) that it may be prorated to get some money back if you wrecked it.

got burnt on my last extended one through GM direct, was supposed to be transferrable or refundable if you get rid of the vehicle prior to rolling over into the extended KM/Time but traded in my Silverado with only 6000km and they wouldnt do anything with the warranty lol, so dont add it till your close and you know you are keeping it.

"Supposed to be" as in that's what the terms were and they were not honored or that's just what they told you and you didn't read the terms?

Got my Ford and the wife’s Jeep warranty through Ziegler. We traded the wife’s Jeep long before the warranty was up and they returned the prorated balance with absolutely no fuss. I was blown away. Both were factory warranties. The only thing I will say negative about the Ford extended warranty is they are very shady on sunroof support. Everything else is as advertised and drama free in my experience. 100% worth it if you plan on keeping the truck IMHO.

I got the 7yr/100k as well. With the occasional price bumps and refund/transfer policy, I jumped on it within the first month.

This would be the only issue. I doubt it will get significantly more expensive, but seeing how Ford knows the build quality is low right now, there might be more increases in the future.
It’s not just Ford. Jeep warranties keep creeping up as well.

I’ve been holding out a bit also, although originally intended to buy a warranty from the beginning. In the past when buying the extended warranty, I’ve never needed it; but when I haven’t I literally had the motor grenade itself just past the OG warranty coverage.

I showed my dealership Granger’s website when I bought the truck and they said they couldn’t even match it. The finance guy showed me his computer screen and showed a loss (under cost of like $150). He said what Granger was offering was a great deal.

He also mentioned that although you can technically wait until like 40k miles to get one, he said to get one before hitting 5k miles, because I might be required to have the truck inspected if over that. Does anyone know if there’s any truth to that?

@Bannerman - I assume you went with the Extra or Premium Care plans with the lower deductible?

I actually don’t remember haha. But I probably went with a higher deductible.
