Wasn’t there a recall associated with B&O rear window rattle?

I seem to recall a short while ago there was a recall notice issued - or being considered - for the rear sliding window rattling with the B&O system…

I’m down at the dealership and there is a recall for towing and something about the wiper arms — nothing about rear window rattle. Does anyone recall anything about this?

Maybe I am crazy or victim of a late April fools joke?

It's a bulletin not a recall. Good luck getting them to do it. I gave up and decided to fix it myself when I have time. You can't order the service part though, only Ford can.

I also read it doesn't fully fix it. There's info on gen14 for what to do to fix it, takes a few hours and some foam tape.

The rattle drives me fucking crazy. On a $70k truck.

Anyone had any luck getting this fixed at your dealer? My 2022 is rattling like a pop can...

The dealer wouldn't do it for me, they said that bulletin is aftermarket and not from Ford. I think we'd have to do the repair in the bulletin ourselves... It's on my list. Mine rattles like crazy.

I haven't noticed this window rattle but then again I have less than 300 miles on the clock.

Update: My dealer was able to find the TSB on my truck and ordered a "seal kit"? and so far the rattle is gone.

If you have the same issue.....take it to your dealer and have them look into it.

75k truck shouldnt rattle fellas

You have that TSB number?

I had my truck at the dealer for some other work and mentioned there should be one for the rattling. I had the TSB Cranbery listed above ready to show them, but they never asked for it. When I picked the truck up they said "Yup we found the TSB and we got the seal kit installed". So who knows what exactly happened, but the rattle is gone :)

Cranbery had an issue with his dealer, but the TSB he has in post#2 has Ford copyrights all over it, including Ford part numbers. I'd give that a try with your dealer.
The dealer supposedly couldn't find it and said it wasn't Ford. Idk what the fk to do at this point. I can't find the parts to order myself either, they don't come up on Ford part sites.

I Googled the part number ML3Z-16423B99-A and found several options to purchase. I just ordered it for $16 shipped as my time to install myself is worth more than going to a dealer and having the conversation. Google it and you will find it.

TSB or not, you would think your dealer would cover it under warranty regardless.

To get rid of this rattle (or any rattle) you dont have to use the materials listed in the attached bulletin, but just something that is soft/padded. I had to do this same thing on my '17, where I just wrapped the wire in some felt and stuffed felt in other areas. 30 min and rattles gone. Did have to have someone drive the truck while I sat in the back so I could pin point where the issues were.

For those with the pano roof, there is also a rattle that will develop on those if you dont grease the seals regularly. That one took me forever to pin down as the rattle in no way sounds like it could be coming from the seals on the glass, but there is also a bulletin on that for earlier years, and the pano roof has not changed design, so it will certainly happen on 21+ models.

Yeah, sorry if that came off as a swipe on you, that was about the dealer doing #justdealerthings.

Its just Miami shit.

I found like @Escape Hatch said (when I looked some months ago didn't see it but now I found it) and ordered it. Easier to just install myself like someone else here said.

Installed the service bulletin fix for the rear window rattle (super easy btw)

It helped a lot. I can still hear it a little sometimes, but its like 80-90% gone as far as I can tell so far.

I bought the TB part thigh I have not observed this issue in my truck. I ask assuming trucks built post TB date for the issue were manufactured with the solve?

TSB says 2021 and mines a 2022, still had the problem.
