Weird Alarm issue

So before calling the dealer I thought I'd get the groups thoughts on this.

I went out camping over the weekend and had some weird issues. To start, we were in the middle of no where, no one around for at least half a mile...

I had the truck keys in my camper about 15' away from my truck. When I went to bed, i noticed that the cup holder and rear seat (from the back of the console) ambient lights were on and had stayed on at least 2 hours after I locked the truck. Next thing I know, the alarm went off. So I shut off the alarm, checked things over, relocked the truck and went back to sleep but did notice the same lights were on. About an hour later the alarm went off again - same story, silence the alarm, lock the truck and the lights are still on. So at this point i just disconnect the battery so I'm not waking up every hour...

Come to the next day, I hook up the battery and things seem normal. But while driving home with my camper I get a single warning "bong" from the truck once every 5 min or so. No warning messages or indicators on the dash. This goes on for about an hour and then stops. I had the truck off and on a few times but no more warnings/sounds.

So I ask the Tremor geniuses - what the heck happened??

Best educated guess and not one that's going to make you happy, is you've got programming error, a short, or loose ground wire. All of those could lead to it, the question is does it do it when there isn't a trailer attached or just when it's attached? If it's when it's attached then it narrows it down to something in that area, either the trailer or the wiring for the trailer connector.
