I woke up this morning knowing what I needed to do. I'm keeping my Gen 2 Raptor. You all brought up good points, but I have a couple of mitigating factors you aren't aware of. We also have a Jeep, so I do have a trail rig, just doesn't have the bells/whistles/amenities I was hoping to get from the Tremor. I also don't have a need to tow above what the Raptor can handle at the moment. We have future plans for a larger trailer, but that needs to wait at least a year anyway until our house/shop build is complete. All said and done, once I replace the Raptor's springs for ~$2500, it'll do what I need it to do for now and my build is complete. I can reevaluate in a couple years.
@Robb1 - I was expecting the Tremor to be a touch closer to the Raptor. It's nearly in the same price point. Mine built out to $70k and with replacing the suspension and wheels and tires, I'd actually outspend a 35" build on the Gen3 Raptor.
@deucedevil - I use my Raptor as a daily driver now at about 20k miles a year. I really don't mind the width driving it around town. I even park it in tiny spots and parallel park it all of the time. I only need to pay attention to parking garage heights and on one narrow bridge, I have to fold in my mirrors. You get used to it quickly. I won't pay over sticker, I will wait until I can buy below sticker.
@NvrEnough - It really is something and why I'm having a hard time letting go.
@Yeti - As I was sitting there gazing at the Gen 2 Raptor, the Tremor, and a Rocky Ridge F150, I started to think about that. Could I really get the Tremor to look how I want? I just don't think I can. It was small things like how the rear fender transitions to the rear bumper. The styling of the hood and the grill. Real carbon fiber in the interior. I was planning about $15k in mods on the Tremor and I just realized even once I spend the money, I don't think I'd be happy. I know they are all small petty things, but those are the things that make me grin when walking up to my truck.
@P0H0 - I know, but as I said above, we do have a trail rig. While I could mod it, performance really wasn't my issue, it came down to styling. I can't wait to see your finished product!
@MOHunter - That's the hard part! It is just mean looking and I can't let it go. While my opportunities to really open it up and catch air with it have been limited, when I do get the chance, it's amazing. Doing 70 mph on dirt roads in baja mode is purely exhilarating. Aside from that, it's about the best daily driver you could ask for.
@James Dean - Luckily I've already got a Gen2 Raptor. I'll wait for the 3rd year of the Gen 3 to make my purchase. History shows they will have the mid-generational updates done and dealers are sitting on enough inventory they will go below sticker price.
