What is this loose green cap I found?

So I was in the middle of installing a catch can (not a thread here to discuss a catch can) and I found this green cap just laying on top of the passenger side valve cover.

Does anyone know what this is for or was for?

I didn’t see anything missing a cap.

I would be willing to bet that is leftover from manufacture. That is the type of cap that normally comes on new lines.

Yep I was figuring that as well. You may have some loose caps lying around on your engine bay folks! Glad it didn’t roll off onto something like the exhaust manifold and melt….

I literally found loose rubber bands in my engine bay after doing a little inspection. Shocked that stuff like this gets through.
