2024 Tremor 402A 5.0L V8
I’ve always wondered this with other Tremor owners so figured I’d ask here. I’m excited and curious to hear everyone’s thoughts.

For me, I have always had a Ford truck of some sort. I had an old F250 XLT extended cab in high school and most recently had a 2010 F150 Lariat crew cab for a long time that did me well. What attracted me to the tremor was the perfect mix of everyday driving and an aggressive looking truck without adding a whole bunch of modifications (even though I’m currently adding subtle ones lol) to make it look more aggressive. The tremor has a natural aggression to it without being straight “off road.” My 5.0 doesn’t get the best gas mileage but I feel it’s still a better ride everyday to and from work compared to say a Raptor without breaking the bank even though our trucks aren’t the cheapest either. I’ve been so happy with my purchase and get excited every time I start the engine!

Please tell me why you bought yours and why you are happy you did!

Always had sports cars and we were talking about getting a camper so obv needed something that could actually tow (and 90lb kayaks were getting annoying to lift onto the roof of my M3) Started with SuperDutys but wife cooled a bit on the camping side and I didnt want a boring vehicle that we weren't really fully utilizing...not that I drive much I've had this thing since new and only have 16k on it. Rangers and the like were too small for my tall ass. Raptors came up for obv reasons but they can't really tow more than toys and they're too wide to get in and out of shit. "I want a Raptor that can actually tow" and shortly after they announced the Tremor. Still have the M3 as a weekend/fun car but will probably sell it for a project since I'm not at the track as often. Tremors that goldilocks do it all zone (for a truck) of fun, manueverable, capable, incognito, and comfortable for me.

I wanted a truck that had good numbers for towing and payload, offroad worthy, comfortable and stylish. I wanted the gvwr of my travel trailer to be less than 80% of the vehicle's towing, and then expanded that to include payload and gcvwr. A little closer on the payload than I'd like, but that was the cost of getting the Tremor.

My second choice was a 2020+ Nissan Titan Pro4X. The towing capacity had me too close to my travel trailer's gross rating.

Another factor that essentially had me sold was how long I keep vehicles and the need to future proof a bit. Comparing the Titan to the F150, the F150 felt like a truck I could be happy with for the next ten to fifteen years.

Last, the community on here was a huge bonus that could not be ignored. Titan Talk has folks, but not nearly as active as folks on here.

I liked my Super Duty Tremor so much and missed the extra features it had vs. my previous F-150 that I replaced the 150 somewhat earlier than originally planned with a Tremor model. I got the SD because after researching all of the Big 3 heavy duty trucks and found out what the intent of the Tremor package was all about I decided it was perfect for what I wanted.

Like @Rabidtastic , I considered the Ranger Raptor, F-150 Raptor & R then circled right back to the F-150 Tremor as the best possible fit for a sub-one ton that could be everything I want but still earn its keep.

Short version... Always been a GM guy(still got my 3/4 ton) but I went shopping after about a year of research ect and wanted something more sporty with better offroad capabilities. After driving 4 ZR2's and the only 2 AT4 X's I could find I was really 🤬 at the quality they are being built now, my '18 ltz was probably the last good truck gm built imo. I found my '24 Tremor all alone and it was a bromance from there LoL and the wife still has a middle school crush on him LoL and even named him BlackJack 😁 the quality is 10 times better and the capabilities are arguably better also for waayyyy less $$$
I got mine over 15K off sticker 😁😁

20k less than a Raptor, same interior, same motor, same tech package. Biiiiig premium in Price to go up to the Raptor. Probably will bite the bullet next time though if they keep downgrading the Tremor.

My dream truck was always a red King Ranch. I had a 2022 f350 lariat 6.7 and loved while i did hotshot but had to sell it when i stopped doing that. I sold my house and land in Tennessee and moved to Illinois to be closer to kids and family, and bought the cheapest house i could with cash so i could get my dream truck in cash. (This was nov/dec 2024)
I like to have options when vehicle shopping and there was only 1 King Ranch with the 6.5' bed. It was a 2022 and had about everything i wanted- the only one available in the country. It was 50k which was at the top of my budget and the dealer wouldnt move an inch on it. So i told myself to look around.
When filtering on cars dot com i found the that for the f150 the tremor wasnt just a package but a whole trim level. I loved the dual exhaust and the upfitter switches. I dislike the short bed on the f150s, especially after having the 6.75' bed in the f350, but the black tremor seemed to "hide" this pretty well. Sure there were tradeoffs between KR and Tremor, but there was more selection on the Tremor.
I was still in TN at the time and i wanted a southern truck per no salt since i was buying a 3-4 year old. I found that dealer inventory had a lot more age on tremor which is always an advantage. I made call after call but dealers werent budging as i wasnt buying that exact moment. All were 47-50k for what i wanted. Then, out of desperation i switched my search over to Facebook and within 5 minutes i found The Truck. Every option i wanted, no bluecruise. 2021 model, windows already tinted (didnt figure out it had air bags till way after i bought it). Truck was from Texas. 3 accidents reported, had been on dealer lot since late july per carfax. $44900. Located 75 miles away. I hit the dealer up and said hey, 3 accidents on carfax, old inventory, it wasnt worth me driving to see unless i got a good price. Guy came back at 43900. I said thanks for the quick response and i appreciate your time, but get back to me when you want to move some metal. He said well what price do you want? 42000. He checked with owner and said "I dont know why, but owner said yes." (Ended up at 42900 per tax thing)
Truck did/does have some issues- a couple of dents, antenna bud stuck (been unsuccessful trying to drill out, will have to pull out the unit), no key or remote for tonneau cover, underseat storage removed, cheap tires(new tho), but it drove straight as an arrow and didnt seem to have any leaks. I fell in love with the power, the feel, the height, the look, deal done. Plus i didnt have to have the truck shipped to me, although i paid my brother well to drive it to my new place in illinois from Tennessee.
So my dream moved from a red f350 KR to a red f150 King Ranch (couldnt find a 2020 thru 2022 f350 KR in my price range, had to have the 10 speed) to the black F150 Tremor.

My reasoning was that while Raptors are honestly cool trucks, it didn’t really fit for me. I just find the whole thing boring. While I’ll admit it is nice to have that turn key product that has a lot of support, it spoils a lot of the fun for me. As I get older I do appreciate some of that but I wanted something that was going to be unique not because of what it is, but because of what it isn’t. That might not make much sense for most but I like that the Tremor is just its own product without needing to be some special social status item. I love the capability and utility blend. It’s done really well and I can’t wait to see how much farther Ford pushes this product line. I would love to see the next gen Tremor F-150 get some form of smaller duty live valve shocks now that the Raptors are pushing dual valve dampening ones. I think this line is a great product for the adventurer like myself. It is fitted with all the interior comforts you could want, rides like a dream on the highway, and handles the off-road like an animal. Maybe it will one day feel like the Raptors do to me now but while I can I’m enjoying the feeling of how the first gen Raptor felt to own before it got turned into a suit and tie show truck that stays closer to a Starbucks than the dirt. So far I’ve got nothing bad to say about it. And ironically my only general complaint isn’t about the truck but about the lack of unique support so far because of the suspension stuff. It’s minor and nothing I hold against the truck I’m just waiting for this tier 2 product to really take off on its own finally.

I purchased my 2023 402A TREMOR for the following reasons.
Coyote.
Avalanche.
Slight lift from the factory without having to go to the aftermarket and worry about possible warranty issues. (Hold your comments people.)😬
Better overall value than a regular 502A 4X4 Lariat with the Sport Package.
Excluding the Raptor, a unique and more aggressive look than any other factory / OEM F150 TRIM.
The Dynamic Bending Headlights…..These were discontinued starting with the 2024 TREMOR.

For me, I always drove Porsche's, Ferraris and a Lambo or two.
... in my Hot Wheels collection. I did have dreams when I was a kid that my Dad had all these fancy supercars in his garage... oh well...

Anyway, since I started driving, I drove a '93 Chevy Suburban 1500. First car, and it lasted me through college and life afterwards. When I returned to college to prep for med school and started doing EMS work, it became my personal and team response vehicle, until the tranny died (well, the 3-4 clutch pack, specifically) on the way home from working an event. I couldn't afford to fix it, but I did have plans to build it out into an offroad rig for disaster response so I kept it. I borrowed my parents' Yukon for a while at that point. Well, after having the Suburban towed around the state several times (at several hundreds of dollars per tow) through med school and facing further relocation for residency, I decided it was time to sell it and move on and just use the Yukon.

I did two disaster deployments with this 2001 Yukon, which has something like 240,000 miles on it now. But, the undercarriage is rusting away, and I was constantly concerned that, at that age and in those environments, it would break down and become a liability to the team. My parents didn't think it that safe to drive either, so I started looking for something that would be able to handle reasonable offroad challenges but that would also be able to tow our disaster trailer if needed. So, I started looking at the Tundra and Power Wagon and Rebel and AT4 stuff and the regular F150. But I chose the Tremor over all those because of the Active Orange accents give me identity and the spiffy "TREMOR" logos make me feel like a man. I admit, I wanted to look cool. I wanted women to love me. I wanted fame, fortune and respect and the best way to do that is through somewhat obscure vehicle branding!

Hahaha. In reality, it seemed that the F150s were more updated internally than the Tundras and were, for whatever reason, better than the Rebel or AT4s for my needs. I couldn't afford the TRX or the Raptor either, not that those would've been ideal for me, either. I watched a lot of videos comparing all these trucks and the Tremor seemed to highly regarded. The F150 fit the bill in terms of cabin space, bed capacity and towing ability, but I also wanted something offroad-ish from the factory so I wouldn't have to do a lot of upgrades like tires and suspension to get the clearance and performance I needed in disaster zones. Enter the Tremor, all with factory warranty.

Then I started doing the upgrades that I bought the truck to avoid... But at the end of the day, I probably could've achieved a similar setup with a more basic F150 and the upgrades I've done to this... and for a lot cheaper. Oh well. Anyway, it wasn't the Tremor stickers, the Active Orange or any of the superficial non-performance-enhancing details the marketing (and many YouTube videos) likes to focus on (I have NEVER turned to seat color accents for help in any way) but the factory-built off-roadish capabilities were a draw. I realized once I got it and started doing some looking around that I could improve upon what it was, but my initial plans were to use the Grabbers as studded winter tires and the Baja Boss A/Ts as the summer/disaster tires. Each set stayed mounted to wheels so I could just swap them out myself based on the season. Of course, the 35s required new suspension...

No regrets at all, though. One of the cool things that I hadn't really anticipated or thought about was the community of Tremor drivers here and on the road (in the rare instances I see another Tremor on the road). As a member of this forum, I never need to worry about having excess money or saving for the future because there's always something I need for the truck RIGHT NOW. :ROFLMAO:

Always had sports cars, but decided I wanted a truck to take off road (and something with more than 2 seats). Locked in on Ford for their engine/transmission options over the competition.

I was looking at Raptors and placed a few orders for them around the Vegas area (orders would be sold for MSRP), but the orders never got built. The dealers were always happy to offer other Raptors that came in for MSRP+30k, which I wasn't willing to pay.

A few years of this, and I started looking around again for options. Found the tremor and discovered you could get the X-Plan price for it through work. Found a local dealer (Team Ford) who emailed me about one for 5k off MSRP. Headed over to look, and while they had it, they said that email was sent in error, and wouldn't honor the price, nor would they do the X-Plan price. Left. Found another local dealer (Gaudin) that would do the X-Plan on them that I was eligible for through work. Ordered a 402a through them, waited for it to be built (it took a while), it came in, paid, and out the door. Pretty easy transaction once you find the right dealer.

FWIW, X-Plan doesn't cover Raptors, and even Gaudin marks those up.

I've been pretty happy with the truck, and honestly a bit glad the Raptor orders fell through. That extra 6 inches of width would make parking more exciting, and the Tremor is barely short enough to fit in the parking garage at the office. I'm not sure the Raptor would have fit at all.

Short answer: Chevy's DFM nightmare and the potential 877K+ engine out recalls. Ford's VDE I couldn't find a whisper of recalls or issues on the 5.0, I'm sure they're out there but the near total lack of info related to problems with the tech sold me. Never been a Ford guy persay but I sure do like my new F-150. Also I'm new here so here's my pic-

Welcome to the forum!

My fourth Raptor, a 2024 Raptor R, came in and there was a Tremor on the lot that was perfect (5.0 and everything I'd want). Raptor R was about $137K out the door and the Tremor was $77K out the door... I'm thinking: $60K?? Love the decision, don't miss the R as my best friend bought it, so I drive it on occasion. The Raptor is smoother on the streets and, of course, rips across the fields on our ranch. But it couldn't tow nearly as much as I'd need it to with the boat and car hauler I've got coming in. So, the choice was clear and, with the 5.0 for me, it gave me what I call, 'The AR-15 of trucks', as I can now spend endless amounts of $$$ on mods. All of which I do myself. Waiting on the SC and, yes, I'll have to have the dealership put that in to get the warranty on it.

I have always had Ford’s and I have always enjoyed them and prefer their styling. Plus most of my family prefers Fords since I can remember. Grandpa worked for the old Atlanta Ford plant before the war…so there’s no question of brand for me.

Got a brand new ‘97 F150 Lariat 4wd w/3rd door when they were introduced when I was 21 and later in life I bought a ‘13 FX4 EB, and later got a ‘13 Lariat 5.0 that I traded so my wife could have a Explorer, while I drove her Fusion for several years. I set my goal on a Raptor once both Explorer-Fusion were paid off. Saw the Tremors when they reintroduced them as a 4wd model and really liked them but was still focused on a Raptor. Then later, I saw news they started offering the Tremor in 5.0 and that caught my attention. About a year after paying off both vehicles I started getting serious about shopping. Loved the Raptor but really didn’t want the EcoBoost, and the R was way out of my price. When comparing, the two I started to see I could get a V8 Tremor 402a with most of the options nearly the same as a base Raptor. Plus, the Tremor would be easier to fit in my garage as far as width. Big caveat was I had to have a Silver truck. Last two '13 F150s were silver and I loved the color. 2024 Raptors did not come in Silver, so I think that and the preference for the coyote, and not settling for the base model made me start looking at Tremors more. Plus there seemed to be plenty of Tremors on dealer lots at the time to negotiate on. Found 3 Iconic Silver 402a's at dealers near me and I started negotiating. I got the truck I have now. Couldn't be happier with my decision.

I’m actually a Toyota guy at heart, but I’ve had my fair share of Fords in the past and they have all been bullet proof. My 2V 5.4 got me to 480K miles.

I bought the Tremor because I was too late to get a 2G tundra with the 5.7 new, and the 3G tundra is meh.

Went shopping for an FX4, dealer had an over allocation of Tremors (30-40 on the lot - wow). Got them down $8K off MSRP - not sticker. 0 markup.

It had the 5.0, which I’m already a big fan of. A unique color (reminds me of Lunar Rock (Toyota), Cactus Green on the bronco). A good tech package - don’t care about 360 cameras, ventilated seats, fancy headlights.

Only thing I’m missing is the torsen, but dealer will do it for $1500. So far haven’t needed it though.

Bronco Wildtrak is just too expensive for the few features it has compared to an F-150 Tremor.
Badlands with the Sasquatch package is a better deal imo. Disconnecting sway bar is worth its weight in gold.

I just deleted my sway bar altogether.
