I ordered a 23 Tremor 402a v8.I am waiting for it but my dealer just received a 22 tremor 402a, and is offering to sell me it at MSRP. I’m not sure what to do. I really do like that the 22 comes with heated steering wheel and blue cruise. But if you guys can give me some opinions that would be great thanks.

Update 12/23/22
Went to the dealership this morning to find out the value of my trade in took a dump and they are not willing to lower MSRP on the 22. Wow these dealerships don’t budge!

Offer him three grand under MSRP and take the better truck.

Personally I love the heated steering wheel, but it’s not a necessity imop. I don’t have bluecruise on my 22 402a tremor but I do really like the adaptive cruise control with lane centering. It basically drives itself on the freeway for me, just need to keep one hand hanging on the wheel.

I’ve watched a lot of YouTube self driving car videos , personally I don’t trust any of them (even Tesla) unless it’s on a freeway. Going through mountain passes or city streets with construction is just not safe imop.

That said if you want to be an early adopter of this technology go for it :)

To me biggest difference between the trucks is v8 vs 3.5 ecoboost. I personally really like the ecoboost and was fine not getting a v8. Do either come with the torsen diff ? It’s a very nice upgrade imop and that was one of my most important options.

The 23 comes with a Torsen and the 22 does not. What does the Torsten do in real world situations. I live in socal and travel to the mountains during the winter.

I might do that. The 22 has no Torsen though.. is that a make or break?
Opinion question that.. As a former SoCal guy, and someone who only mildly offroaded, it's not a deal-breaker. I'd push hard for a discount, interest rates are high and that's an outgoing model year. The market is a little different than it was 6mo ago.

Yea I would say in so-cal you have no need for a Torsen diff. I live in the PNW and driving up icy/snowy logging roads in winter I find it a very nice option to have. It basically acts like a front locking differential (since f150 does not offer that)

Id go with the 22. The Ecoboost is better IMO and you'll likely get a better deal on it and not have to wait to own it.

Agree with the others that stated you should go with the '22 402a. I've got the Torsen, but I'm also in the PNW and we do quite a bit off the beaten path (forest/logging roads) in the winter. Ask for a sizeable discount - a few grand, and take delivery.

Rates will likely increase while you wait on the 23 and you can always add the torsen after the fact if you so wish.

Another option: Do like I did and buy a used one for way cheaper. Mine had 5k miles, all the options I wanted as well as the color I wanted. Was only 3 months old so just a few months less warranty than new. Plus mine already had tint, level and nice floor mats. If you are patient enough to wait for '23 with less options then you are patient enough to find a used one with all the right options haha. Plus the '22 I got has heated steering wheel. Didn't know I needed that until this week with negative temps out!

I am in the denver area and i use my heated steering wheel all the time. I do moderate offroading(toughest being comparable to red cone pass), i snowmobile and need the torsen for loose rock, snow, mud, all season driving in the rockies and going on adventures. Mid july can be in the teens when camping around 11,000 feet. So, the 402a 3.5 ecoboost w winter package is what i required. Now, if you dont think you need the torsen, thats a huge decision in my opinion. The 3.5 eco vs v8 was less of a concern for me. The 3.5 eco is silent, very very responsive, seems very reliable in the later models and are now everywhere and in everything. Do you really want the sound of the v8? I just came from a tuned and deleted cummins that made some of the most eargasmic sounds i can comprehend(if you havent driven a fully deleted diesel and used the exhaust brake in a canyon, tunnel or residential area with high fencing or congested housing, you haven’t heard the magic of turbo spool and growling exhaust). With that said, the 3.5 ecoboost is just soo smooth and quiet, its a nice change. The 3.5 eco has great low end torque and was the perfect transition back to gasoline.

If you plan on towing anything the 3.5 ecoboost is way better than the 5.0.
