Hi everyone, I've been researching why we only have a foot of water fording depth, whereas Raptor has 3 feet, but it sounds like nobody really knows why. For the rear differential, our diff breather is at about the height of the top of the tire, so that should be good for at least 2 feet. I haven't found anything about where the breather for the front Torsen is located (if we even have one). Does anyone know - or what else could be the limitation?
(My guess would be that Ford is just erring on the side of caution, especially because they know a lot of people will drive though water too fast and could splash on sensitive parts higher up in the engine. Obviously, since not all Tremors have the Torsen, that can't be the only issue...)

All I can say is I've had mine up over the running boards and have no issues at this time.

Yeah, I've been in water a little over the running boards too, but it always feels a little uncomfortable, because I don't want to find out the hard way how deep is too deep...

There's a topic on here about that, I don't think anyone found a definite answer, I just know when it starts coming up to the door that's deep enough for me, mildewed carpet would make for a bad day.

I think I saw that thread, but I was wondering if having the front torsen changes anything. Been thinking about getting an aftermarket diff breather, since this is much cheaper than having to replace the differential if you get water in it...
