So…. I want to add a winch and do the Swarfworks mount but the ones they advertise are so expensive plus I’ve got to relocate the intercooler. It’s not something I want to send $2k on. Are there any other solid options out there?
Not in the Warn brand. The one I’m looking at is the XP and it will be around $3,000. The BRaptor gets the first one. There may be some other brands and someone else may come up with other suggestions.Solid point. Is there a cheaper Warn that would work?
Electronically controlled clutches on any winch are going to be exclusive to the more expensive ones; that starts and ends with the Zeon. You're going to pay a minimum of $1500 for that feature set.Solid point. Is there a cheaper Warn that would work?

It was never my intention to cheap out on a TEMU brand. When I say cheaper I ment not $3k. $1500 seems reasonable and at that price point should be reliable.Electronically controlled clutches on any winch are going to be exclusive to the more expensive ones; that starts and ends with the Zeon. IMO - A winch is an insurance policy if you get stuck. I would steer clear of any TEMU brands though. Do you really want to cheap out on that policy?
Another option is to get a VR 10/12s and install the Vice Designs clutch relcation kit: https://www.vicedesign.ca/products/ram-warn-vr-evo-clutch-relocation-kit. I know it's for a RAMbut it's an option. There is another thread on this kit here if you’re interested: https://www.f150tremor.com/threads/removed.3908/post-77957 @Bucket1 can you help us out?
Worst case you can leave the clutch engaged and let it spool out under its own power. How much do you plan on using this?
Expensive toys require expensive tools. $1500 is what you’ll find a zeon 10 (not s) for on sale if you look around during the holidays. Otherwise it’s all $1800+.It was never my intention to cheap out on a TEMU brand. When I say cheaper I ment not $3k. $1500 seems reasonable and at that price point should be reliable.
They are all made in China, the difference is the zeon/XD series are assembled in the US. Nothing is truely “made in USA” anymore. If you go Warn - the VR's are imported (Chinese) while the M and Zeon series are made in the USA.
If you get a Zeon 10s you don’t need to relocate the clutch.Zeon 10s is the way to go. Found it for $1500. Please confirm and correct me that the only issue is the manual clutch release right? Looks like that relocation kit will do the trick and I can make a hydraulic hose at work to the correct length. since I have the Parker crimper.
Yes it was not a bad install with Vice kit. I was using my plasma cutter to cut the hole in the swarf kit if I took my time and wasn't impatient I would have used a hole saw. Other than that I just took my time and measured a bunch of times before I crimp the end of the hydraulic hose. I just couldn't see spending that kind of money on a new winch when I hit a perfectly good one to use. The Machining from the vice kit was perfect. I did clock the winch like swarthworks said to do. With the coyote motor there is so much room in front of the engine I believe you could get somebody else's winch mounting plate. But you guys at the EcoBoost have a lot more to do with the intercooler in the way. I don't know if it would be cheaper to get a bumper with a winch mount included in it. For some reason I can't attach files to this reply. But if you look up my previous post there should be pictures of the which installElectronically controlled clutches on any winch are going to be exclusive to the more expensive ones; that starts and ends with the Zeon. is there enough room to make a vertical kit like the vice one so you could activate the clutch in the grill or under the hood?Yes it was not a bad install with Vice kit. You could probably get a longer hydraulic line and route it up somewhere by the radiator inside the grill I'm sure it would take some figuring out to dois there enough room to make a vertical kit like the vice one so you could activate the clutch in the grill or under the hood?
It shouldn't hurt anything it just lowers the duty cycle because of the extra heat going into the winchI have the warn vr 12 s on my truck and I have never use the clutch . I just spool out with the controller . Not like there is a rush wen winching anyway
