2023 f150 tremor
Hey so I just ordered a 2023 f150 tremor. I live in Toronto and winters get fairly rough, with a lot of snow and ice. I’ve never had a truck with all terrain tires. Are they really that bad in the snow/ice? If so, do any of you recommend all season tires or straight winters for my tremor? Or can AT tires handle the job through the winter? Thanks

The stock tires seem to do pretty good on snow and ice. I am in Colorado and we have had a couple storms with about a foot of snow and some cold weather afterwards so the snow hasn't melted, in fact it turned to ice. Are the tires as good as dedicated ice/snow tires? NO they are not. Are they acceptable as is? Absolutely. I sold the set of Yokohama IceGuards that I took off of my 2016 XLT F150. This truck and these tires (especially if you ordered 402A with 4 auto) handles the white and slippery stuff quite well. These tires are also stud able, but not sure if anyone can actually add studs once they've seen pavement. I would say try them out and if you absolutely hate them buy some actual winter tires.

**Also, Tirerack rates the General Grabber A/TX pretty high for Winter/Snow use.

Sweet, thanks for the input! I’ll try ‘em out!

I'm also in Colorado with a 401A that doesn't have 4Auto, and I do struggle in 2H sometimes. I find myself switching back and forth between 2H and 4H a lot. In Colorado, we often have dry pavement on the main streets and ice in parking lots and neighborhoods. If you have solid snow/ice everywhere, you could just leave it in 4H though.

couple hours west of you right off lake huron, I think the Grabbers were 3 peak snowflake rated so you can still get your winter tire insurance savings we have in Ontario, i ended up putting on some M/T Baja Boss for larger tires and offroad use, they are also 3 peak snowflake rated, as are the BFG KO/2 and Duratrac, all decent options if you can find them. Was always a KO/2 user but i thikn going forward ill get the Baja Boss when possible.

Problem I have with snow tires is there are super soft, and not much good for offroad for gravel, or hunting and fishing season for me, they dont stand up to dried out corn stalks on farmer felds.

Also in Colorado. I have the 402a with the torsen. In 4a, I have found the stock Grabbers to be rather good in the snow and slush. I get a bit of slip on ice, but maybe that's to be expected.

I live in Northwest Territories Canada and I have dura Tracs on my Super Duty Tremor and 98 Explorer 5.0 with no issues.... be trying the Generals when the truck arrives next month.

I'm in Montreal, Quebec, these oem tires are ok, but don't grip like a winter tire, and icy spots aren't great, i use the 4x4 a lot more, even to back into my driveway. Looking forward to install my winters
