Would you return this bed mat?

Just picked up the OEM Ford bed mat to throw on top of the line-x. The mat seems to be like 1/8th in too wide as it won't sit flat. The mat is not deformed from packaging or being rolled up. It was perfectly flat before putting it in the bed. Is this normal or is the quality control off a bit here? Would you return it?

I literally had this same thought as I picked one up today as well. I’m going to shave some off the sides so it sits flat. Must be because of the bed liner? I feel your pain.

Off subject but how do you like your Rad strap?

You only installed one? Do you think 2 are necessary or one does what you need?

I've been heavily considering purchasing a pair.

Also, I'd return the mat. I have a bedrug mat I put down over my bedliner sprayed from factory, perfect combination in my opinion.

Let me know how you make out shaving it down. What are you going to use?

I haven't used the rad strap yet however I'm pretty confident it's going to be great for my needs. My last truck was a 2014 fx4 screw with the 5.5ft bed. I often find myself hauling long things (kayaks, lumber, etc) with the tail gate up and use a strap over top. I figure, for my needs, one in the vertical position would cover me for 90% of the stuff I'd strap and I still have the lower anchors and tailgate anchors for everything else.

It's not too wide. The bed is too narrow because of the Line-X.

I purchased the same bed mat from my Ford dealer and it does the exact same thing even before I had a Line-X sprayed. I thought maybe it just needed to settle from being rolled up but after a month it’s still the same way. The spray in liner has nothing to do with it.

I don't have a mat but OP said it's 1/8" too wide. I do have Line-X and can say it's about 1/8" thick and obviously applied to both sides so X2. So was just going my that data.

When I bought my truck it did not have either the spray in or plastic liner…the mat was too wide and buckled up just as the OP pictured. I get that the spray in liner may have made it worse but it was too wide to begin with.

This was my first thought but #1 ford does offer spray in bed liner from factory and I would assume they would have a disclaimer on their accessory site saying it isn't compatible with spray in bed liners and #2 i've found several pictures on different forums showing the oem mat fitted properly on trucks with the spray in bed liners.

I'm thinking this is probably a QC issue. I am heading to the dealer tomorrow to swap it out. If that doesn't solve my problem, I'm going to attempt to trim the sides down a tad. Open to suggestions on how to do that cleanly...

Either way I'll let you guys know how I make out.

I think you’re probably right, although I believe the factory bed liner is thinner than Linux

It looks nice other than being a little too wide. I'd trim it . Get a straight edge and a utility knife with a brand new blade and go to it.

I have the same OEM Mat. I also installed after I added the bedliner. I assumed it didn't fit perfect due to the liner. It did flatten out over time but it still has slight hump on the middle. 😑. Isn't that bad but since it was brought up here, I now have to fix it.. It is thick so it will be fun times just to trim this dam thing.

Out of curiosity, why get the mat if you have line-x?

To your question, if you like the mat, I'd just cut off what you need to to make it fit.

Sending it back will just be wasteful, more shipping, and you'll probably get the same thing again, I mean it's Ford.

I was driving to the gym last night and I could hear it flopping around in the bed. I'm definitely cutting this thing up this weekend and then putting something heavy on it to get these giant ripples out. I'll do a before/after if it settles.
