My dealer originally quoted a price of 3% over invoice. I then learned about x-plan and joined. My new x-plan price listed on dealers computer is basically the same price. It seems to me they are pocketing the x-plan savings from ford instead of passing it on to me. I am guessing most folks go in negotiating with x-plan before hand not after the fact. Am I missing something.

I’m fairly certain that it actually says in the X Plan paperwork that you must inform the dealer you have it before placing your order. That being said, I told my dealer about my X plan pin about two months after I had made my order and they had no problems accepting it. I feel like they are just jerking you around because they think they can and they don’t seem to be concerned with having you as a future customer.

I informed my dealer about X-plan about a month after I ordered. I didn't know I qualified thru my employer. X-plan is invoice cost - .5% + $100 doc fee (might be $250 but don't remember). They accepted it and it's listed on the invoice. I did let my dealer know if they were not going to horn it I would cancel my order and go elsewhere. X-plan is totally optional to for a dealer to accept and I know some said they would take it on most models except tremors and mustangs so your mileage may vary. But if they are telling you 3% over invoice is x-plan, they are jerking you around.

I called every dealer in AZ and only one said they would honor X plan. The rest basically hung up on me. I am still worried I will go in and they will give me an excuse not to honor it, even though I have it in email several times that they will.

Did they show you the invoice sheet that shows MSRP, Invoice and x-plan? When did you order your truck? The only way they are being close to truthful is if you ordered before we have had a few price increases, and that price ends up being close to what x-plan would be now if you were to order today. If you do need to order again you should do it before Fri. when there is another price increase.

Dealers do not have to accept x-plan (or even A, Z, D), but it sounds like they are telling you the wrong price. If you have an x-plan pin you can go online to Fords x-plan site and build your truck and it will tell you what x-plan price is. Or the dealer can (and should) print out your build which will show MSRP, Invoice, X-plan. Personally, I would never order/purchase a vehicle from a dealer who was not willing to print out this sheet and go over it with me. The dealer will still make money even if they sell under invoice because they also get holdback from Ford (I think it is about 1% of MSRP on an F150).
