I took my truck in for an inspection of the transmission because I was tired of the random feeling of being rear ended. So they check it out and with my extended warranty decided it did need new parts in it. Well I went to pick it up last Saturday and the fuel pump was going ape shit and the engine light was on. I’m not a pro mechanic, but this is the first truck that I’ve had that I don’t just do all the work myself. So the question is, why the hell would the fuel pump go bad and cause constant vacuum sounds when all they needed to do was work on the trans? This actually pisses me off because I’ve never had an engine light come on in this truck for 44k miles, I take it in and it’s now in worse condition. Anyone have some light to shed on this for me?
