While I don't personally care about the better lights all that much, I can't argue with this sentiment. I think its ridiculous that the $67,000 401a TREMOR doesn't have the better headlights.This. I have no idea why Platinums, Lariats, etc get them but an $82k Tremor doesn't.
100%. LED's in halogen housings are the worst. Most of what I see on the road are vehicles that are probably running factory LED's though. (IE, newer vehicles.)Just to be fair here. You are more likely to blind someone with LED/HID headlights with reflectors vs. the same lights with projectors. Obviously, either can be maladjusted and have the same effect. Projectors are more accurate, localized light than reflectors.
Again, I think the 401a's and up should have it. Though the argument can be made that the 401a is effectively an XLT plus the TREMOR stuff, it shouldn't but as far as I am concerned, its ridiculous that a $67,000 truck doesn't have the better headlights. With that being said, my $39,000 2024 middle of the road Mazda CX-50 I use as my daily has LED's with projectors. The fact they left them off the 402b makes no sense. I love the truck regardless.
Fair enough. I think you'd be buying a pretty low end trim level to end up rocking halogens on anything these days. The line in the sand for me is LED/HID. Won't buy a vehicle without them anymore. Unacceptable in this day and age. I can live with reflectors and LED's.
402A.My Tremor is a '22, and I selected the 402b option because of the headlights and 4A. I won't replace my F-150 until the awesome headlamps return. So a vote for better headlamps on high trim levels and for a more level stance.
Hey, I ordered the truck almost five years ago! So it's a 402a. Whatever. The adaptive headlamps with Glare Free enabled are a game-changer. Better than the current lights. I live where good headlights are really important, so it's a big deal to me. I bought the Tremor for the off-road capabilities, also important where I live. The only other F-150 that is similar is the Raptor.I'm pretty sure you didn't. 402b is new for 2026. There was a 400a, 401a, and 402a during the early years. 400a was dropped and most of that time (if I recall correctly) we've only had 401a and 402a.
Also, the better headlights are still around. Just not on the TREMOR. Also, I think too many of you make a big deal about the headlights. It's like you base your whole purchase on that and it baffles me. If they were the shit halogens of the previous generations I might agree with you. But they aren't. They are perfectly adequate for night time driving.
I can't stand all the jackasses with blinding headlights on the roads.
“Also, the better headlights are still around.” Not quite; they removed the adaptive feature, and now they only include dynamic bending. Long story, but it all ties into the NHTSA, and in anticipated approval, which never came.I'm pretty sure you didn't. 402b is new for 2026. The 402A headlights are a huge upgrade when glare free lighting is enabled. Im not saying the led reflector headlights were bad. Thats one of the reason I searched out a 402A, glare free lighting and 4Auto. A lifted Lariat high in an off-road package….I'm pretty sure you didn't. 402b is new for 2026.
