Is the AC in these truck just adequate? Mine is cold but takes some time and isn't super chilly coming out the vents. Same for everyone?
Have an old 2011 F250 which still nearly blows snow out the vents so that is where my comparison comes from.

Mine works well. That said, there is a lot of electronic control to them are there are some well documented issues with them. I know Ford has updated the firmware on them a few times to deal with A/C related issues.

Coming from a 2010 lariat 5.4 to my 2025 5.0 I feel like the AC in my 2025 is wayyyy colder. Granted some of that may be bias from the last 5 years in a 10+ year old truck but I never remember having to turn it down or turn the vents away from me. I keep the auto fan limit on mine at 1 or 2 and often set it to 76-77 because it seems so much colder.

The first year I had this truck ('23 402a) , it would freeze you out of it no problem. One day a OTA update came through regarding HVAC something something... and I swear it has never been the same since. People think I am crazy, but I know something was changed. I presume it had something to do with them trying to reduce the coils from freezing up if I remember correctly...? Either way, only using MAX AC allows the system to really get cold.

My 2005 Pontiac GTO had the best air conditioning of any vehicle I ever had. It could be 100 degrees outside and it would put frost on the vents. Truly spectacular.

Mine is pretty good. It was 102F here yesterday and I was comfy. The one thing I will say is if you turn it down to "Lo" it's actually not as cold as if you set to 63-64F. That's been the case with a couple vehicles I owned.

I believe on the Lo setting the fans overwhelm the actual cooling of the air.

Tell you what, those vented seats in the 402a were nice yesterday.

I’m not saying this is the case but perhaps it was because your GTO used R-134a instead of the now required / standard R-1234yf (HFO-1234yf.

My 2023 402A is hit and miss. Besides the driver side vent putting out almost zero air, mine will blow warm air if it’s really hot out until I turn it off for 15-20 minutes. Plus, there is almost no airflow In the back seat.

After I loaded up an Oz tune, my driver side air vent now blows just as well as the drivers side vent adjacent to the infotainment system. Have no idea if that is coincidence or not? Prior to the tune, it barely put out any air.
