Bad Ass Tremor Trailer

That's how I got started. I got a family sized tent and took the crew camping. After the second trip, and waking up in 30 degree weather waiting for the fire to get going... I finally got approval for a little RV. I picked up a used fiberglass "Casita" for $10k and rocked that for 3 years. Had to sell it to move overseas, so now I have to do the same thing again to get "permission" for another camper. Having a little bathroom was a key feature for my wife who doesn't like to stroll to the camp bathroom at 2am. I hope the prices are coming down- everything went up 50% during the last 3 years.
Yep, that's usually how things progress. Stage 1 was successful planting those travel camper seeds.
Last night we decided to book a hotel for my kids travel ball tournament because it was and hour and a half a way and his last game will end at 7:30 then we have to eat, and be back next day @ 8:30am so we booked a hotel for like $180 for the night. So I said why don't we save the $180 we'd spend on the hotel and invest in the $65k camper and then I added a lot of bs fluff I usually do when I want something anyways she didn't go for it. The sticker on that one is $69k I'm gonna keep an eye on it if it gets heavily discounted like many of them do and goes down to $45-$49k I'm pretty sure we'd pick it up. I put 10% down then finance for 20 years with a low $200 payment. Its on my radar in the background for meow.

Don't forget to factor in camping costs. Some RV campgrounds cost as much as a cheap hotel. State parks are better and cheaper, but they fill up way in advance. I learned I really hated RV parks- trying to camp next to $300k Class A monoliths with full timing retired folks who don't like kids running around. Places with limited to no hookups are much better for small campers.

No kidding... I had a camper van during covid and a.KOA in Ouray was charging $120 a night!
