And now my wife received an update last night her explorer moved up one month on her build date. The only news I get is more cool options being dropped. Is anybody thinking of going to dealer asking for discounts? So far ambient lighting, digital temp controls and glare free headlights. What else has been removed? Maybe I pull my order and wait for a 2023 when everything is added back in.

I didn't care about the lighting or the climate control knobs, but the glare free headlight delete sucks. If you do wait, you will pay more, just have to decide what it's worth to you.

I’m 100% going to ask for discounts. You can’t pull options, increase the price, and make the wait months without some compensation.

Is there any plan to be able to option these deletes later after you pick up the truck? Or are they completely off the table? they were doing that with the heated seats in the Chevy. When the chip came in, you could go to the dealer and they’d do the install.

Why would the dealer owe you a discount when Ford is the one who decided to remove options? Or are you saying you’re going to try to get some kind of a discount from Ford?

I am going to go through the dealer to Ford. The dealers need to be the ones to complain to Ford based on customer feedback. The dealer is the retailer and they’re a representative of the company. They’re responsible for dealing with the ramifications of what corporate does.

Looks like bannerman and TJE are in the same boat. I ordered mine December 21st but I live near dearborn michigan I can pick mine up quicker

Placed an order for a 401A In stone gray metallic 3 weeks ago. I got my order confirmation email, any thoughts on when I should expect a production week email? Dealer was quoting 4-6 months, I am personally anticipating longer. Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately, nobody is going to be able to give your a good answer. It will take longer than a 400A and shorter than a 402A ordered at the same time. I was told Feb-March when I ordered in December, still don't have a VIN.

Sadly I too also made my order on 23 Dec 21 and have yet to hear anything and I am now disappointed to read the the Job 2 builds will not be including glare free headlights, a feature I was really looking forward to. It seems each newer version gets less features. Damn this chip shortage in more ways that one!

Can you help me to understand what Job 2 means and where Ford published that the glare free headlights were being dropped?

Back in June. Got reordered on Oct. 20 for 2022. Think I had my vin since mid December.
