Bilstein 8112 Shocks

Did you have to make any modifications when installing the 8100s to the rear? I want to get a set for my truck but was concerned that they state only up to 0.5 lift, when the Tremor has a 2 inch lift block.

I would say don’t follow in my footsteps if it concerns you. I did not do any modifications and don’t plan to at this point in time. I am motivated enough by making use of them until something goes bad. So far no issues to report. I’ve been focusing on my Bronco lately but will have more time this summer to push the rear and monitor for potential issues.

Thanks for the quick reply. My concern was more of them not fitting without modifications, which would have been fine as long as I knew what to change.

Bilstein is referring to the lift over stock Tremor height (which they communicate as "Fits Vehicles with 0" Rear Lift")

Change the vehicle you entered in the Bilstein site (for example Lariat F150 4x4) and it will change to 0-1" lift.

There is another thread on here about this topic that I commented in, but if you are really really concerned over droop travel, then you want to look at the Jeep line of 8112s. They are a little longer than the F150. The valving will most definitely be different though and you'll need to have someone rebuild them right off the bat.

No problem at all. Yeah they bolted up fine. They were quite stiff to get into place which made me regret not using a vehicle lift for the install. I had to articulate the truck with a floor jack to get the axle side bolted up. Wasn’t horrible just wasn’t as drop in as I expected. They ride so well though and has totally been worth it. Already looking to do them on the Bronco next.

That makes sense, I guess I was just over thinking it as other websites said the same thing when they didn't have the sub option for Tremor.

I'll probably run into the same issue as I don't have a vehicle lift either but I'll make it work
