Local liquor store had 5 year old Shenk's on sale. That stuff's pretty good.

Picked up a box of My Father Blue, very nice. Highly rated by Cigar Afficianado and a top 25 cigar for 2025 at JR Cigar. I recommend. Also found thr Monte Cristo Espada to be a nice smooth choice for the money. Both have found a long term home in my humidor for a while.

Less strong, a davidoff signature and buffalo trace. $25 cigar $30 bottle

For a slapper, opus x and blantons or widow Jane 13 $40+ cigar $100+ bottle

Just had a Davidoff Signature tonight with a glass of New Riff Single Barrel. Good cigar.

I have enjoyed cigars periodically over the years, but the stale taste that lingered the next day kept me from enjoying them more often. This past fathers day, my son bought me a pipe and some local tobacco for it. What a difference. No bad stale after taste - in fact, the taste that lingers is pleasant. For those in a similar boat with cigars who like the taste during but not after, you might try a pipe some time.

Just out of the store (no resting), it was probably one of the best sticks I've had, including OPUS...Can't wait for them to rest a bit. I've looked long and far for them, and happen to be bored at work Friday, and thought I'd grab a VSG (never had one) from the only tobacconist around...I was checking out, and like always asked about opus, and remembering it was October, asked about pinks. I was delighted when he shifted his eyes slightly to the left.View attachment 42015View attachment 42016View attachment 42017View attachment 42018 fore more suggestions visit abbie's cigars perdomo
Great combo. Padron 2000 Maduro with Buffalo Trace is a classic where the chocolate and coffee notes pair beautifully with the vanilla and caramel finish. Step it up with Padron 1964 Anniversary and Blanton's Single Barrel for a premium evening. Bold smokers should try Liga Privada No. 9 with Booker's Bourbon, it is a powerhouse pairing. Match your intensity levels and you really cannot go wrong. What are you currently smoking and drinking

I get about 1 or two cigars a year, so I usually go with a few suggestions from the shop owner, usually favoring something that was locally rolled.

As far as bourbon, I have been absolutely obsessed with Chicken Cock lately. When I make a trip for work, I usually try to find a local distillery and pick up a bottle of whatever they have.
If you get to Chattanooga, take the distillery tour or at least sample Chattanooga Whiskey. It’s very, very good. In Delaware at the beach this week, going to check for distilleries in the Lewes area. I like trying different bourbons especially local or smaller and lesser known brands.
