How do we get enough folks across all of N. America to drive Ford to roll this out? I think most people would obviously pay the $140-$175 back to get the option and probably well North of that for all OEM heated steering wheel. But to not even offer in the US would be a huge dick move. - Rob

Well, thus far it seems it is not going to be a US thing, and I hate to be the glass half empty guy, but I dont think there is anything we can do to get Ford to roll this out to the US customers. That would increase their costs for this program by 100x compared to them just doing it for Canadians

One would like to see maybe a "discount" (using that word wildly here) kit upgrade to add it back via dealers. Would hope for something of a compromise. I am going to pester my dealership to see. - Rob

Love the idea, am pessimistic that Ford will do anything, so maybe your dealer will. Once I found out my truck would be coming with the heated steering wheel delete and the measly $140 credit, I then added up what the parts would cost me to add it back and negotiated that off my final price with the dealership at purchase.

That’s my problem with this all,trucks keep getting crazy expensive and there gonna nickel and dime over something that should be standard now a days. Removing all the things they did from a 23 model but still charging the same price if not more….theres the true issue at hand.

So kinda the classic dealership response. I gave them the Canadian Customer Sat letter and the number (22G06) and they ran my VIN and said I was not part of the "recall". I was like is it a recall or customer sat? Anyhow after some discussion they said I could discuss with their Performance Team for the "upgrade" to have this installed. More to come as I am curious as to what they will quote me now. - Rob

So here is the bit of run around I got. So they checked and "roughly know what this is about, and have heard of it". They can look into the part required and labor and give me an estimate but given my VIN they said "there is no guarantee the equipment would work"???? My truck was a custom build sheet with this specific option that they came back and deleted due to chip shortage about a month before delivery. So why would they say that statement about HW working? Interesting. More to come. - Rob

Dealerships are the last place I would go for “custom” work, which I would file this as. Depending on your trim level it could be as simple as replacing a few parts (SCCM, steering wheel and HVAC module) and some Forscan programming with no wiring needed, so if you can use Forscan and are semi mechanically inclined you might want to do it yourself. Plenty of info between a few forums to tackle it.

But no way in hell I would trust a dealership to do a job that is time and materials rather than the flat rate they are used to.

Agree - I didn't want everything on my 402a, for example I specifically asked for no sun/moon roof…but absolutely wanted the heated steering wheel and the bed camera (you know, the ENTIRE 360-degree camera package).

These two deletes and measly deducts (which for me were also a surprise less than a month before production) have been a thorn in my side after waiting over 11 months for a custom built truck from a dealer that was radio silent for 90% of that time… Now that it’s getting cold out, it’s bugging me even more…

I will be shocked if you don’t end up needing to provide the BOM (part numbers) for them - they are listed on this forum.

I added it back, took me about 45 mins, and there is no way I would have let my dealer do it without them having a TSB that applied to my VIN that clearly showed them the steps to do it

Like everyone, NOT happy with FORD on the cutting corners on the $75K trucks. I swore I wouldn't be adding the Heated Steering Wheel, but since all the wires are there in place and I wanted the paddles, I am biting the bullet. Prices on SCCM came down dramatically, they run about $70 bucks. I just received my raptor wheel with orange wrap and stitching yesterday, (on ebay run $650 to $800) and although I could program the infotainment soft buttons , I wanted the hard button and digital read out on the HVAC module ( ebay $115). Will do install as soon as my SCCM and HVAC control module arrive. Must say, the raptor wheel is pretty sweet and I am looking forward to getting this installed.

I can't find any tremor wheels.. a lot of people getting these Raptor wheels with orange stitching ~ I just don't want buttons that do nothing.

Not sure what you mean by buttons that do nothing? You swap your tremor steering wheel bezel with all your control buttons over to the new steering wheel. ALL buttons work as they should along with the additional paddle shifters, thats why there are so many doing it. I def would not have done it otherwise.

Got the Raptor Heated Steering Wheel Retro-Fit completed today. Big thanks to @apetty for the guidance in getting this install complete. Install included the raptor heated wheel w/orange stitching, updated HVAC module with the heated wheel hard button & digital readouts, new SCCM and...
