I have seen a few threads with folks running 17's. This is my go to wheel size but I am wondering if they fit without modification? I have seen some folks using Raptor wheels and having to grind the lower ball joint screw. Is this not the case on Methods or other aftermarket wheels? Im looking at RTR, Method, and KMC wheels but want to be prepared for any modifications to just fit the wheel(not fender/skid plate tire rubbing).

I want to move to 17's due to cushion, tire availability (especially C Load), etc.

I had Gen 3 Raptor wheels with 315/70R 17 KO2's on my '23 Tremor (same setup as was on my '19 Raptor).
The clearance is minimal at the lower Ball Joint Bolt (approx. 1/8 to 1/4 inch).
Have been running this setup for 2 1/2 Years and over 40k miles with no issues and no contact with the wheel.
As you noted, some have ground off the "Non-Threaded" part of the bottom of the Ball Joint Bolt.
I chose not to do this an all is well.
Enjoy you Tremor!

A timely discussion. I was just about to post the same question. I'm due for new tires, thinking about new wheels, maybe 17". Has anyone encountered 17" wheels that would not fit and/or rub on the ball joint, knuckle or brakes?

It would be great to have the variety of 17" tires to choose from. There are much fewer 18" tires and they are mostly E rated above stock size.
