Got me thinking, $750 including dealer install. That’s some pop for that price.

Here’s a link to a thread on this subject

I got mine after my truck was out of warranty, I’m a fan. My main desire was better throttle response in normal mode without the gear holding of sport mode and for the added power to help offset the heavier tires and it delivers on both fronts. Any mileage change would have to do if you change fuel octane rating or your driving habits when you get it. I already ran 93 so no change for me.

Pretty sure dealer installation is a ripoff. The first time getting it activated and downloading your stock tune takes like 15 minutes, any time after that takes like 5. I just reloaded mine to reset my transmission after a fluid replacement, it’s basically no effort. Plug it in, turn on accessory mode and hit the load calibration button.

Short of your battery dying while loading the tune I can’t see how a regular person doing it is any different from a dealer with any greater risk to the truck. Hook up to a trickle charger when you’re doing it and you’re good to go. It’s not like forscan where you are way more involved in what is getting programmed and can mess it up, the little tuner device does it all for you with basically one push.

I didn’t mention earlier, but I am currently running a Ford Performance Tune in my ‘23. Throttle response is definitely better than stock, low end torque, and shifting are also noticeably better than stock. Fuel economy is not any different that I can tell. As noted above, install is a piece of cake. Just follow the prompts after getting the tune loaded onto the device.
I also had an MPT Tune on my ‘19 Raptor loaded via an SCT X4. The MPT tune definitely made a more appreciable difference than a the Ford Performance Tune. It was their 93 Octane PRX Tune which is definitely more aggressive than the Ford Performance Tune.
No real issues with either tune. However, I did return to Stock Calibration if I had to take the truck in for any work at the Dealer.

Am I math broken? This is copied from a search, and matches what I understood the HP/TQ rating was 100% stock:

The 2023 Ford F-150 Tremor with the optional 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine delivers 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.

From the link above:

Unlock the full power of your F-150 3.5L EcoBoost with Ford Performance Calibration, boosting your ride by 55 HP and 100 lb-ft of torque.

  • Peak power = 450 HP @ 5,250 rpm
  • +55 HP @ 5,250 rpm
  • Peak torque = 510 lb-ft @ 3,500 rpm
  • +100 lb-ft @ 2,500 rpm

HP seems about right, but TQ?

From the link above, it states $850...Is the 25% discount off the $850, or is $850 already discounted?

You have to enter the promo code and then it drops to 750 installed.

The excerpt below is from the Ford Performance detail on their website. My understanding is that the 55 HP gain is at 5,250 rpm, not peak HP, and the 100 lb-ft gain is at 2,500 rpm, not peak gain. So as I understand it, there is a 50 hp peak gain (450 hp) and a 10 lb-ft peak torque gain (510).
I can definitely feel the low end torque increase down low on my truck. The Dyno Graph does illustrate these numbers.
Hope this helps.

3.5L F150

If you're looking to unlock more potential hidden under the hood of your 2021-2023 F150 3.5L EcoBoost, pick up the Ford Performance Calibration Pack today! This performance-tailored calibration pack adds an impressive boost of power and torque, giving you a more thrilling experience each time you hop on the accelerator. You'll gain an extra 55 horsepower at 5,250 RPM, pushing the peak output to an impressive 450 horsepower. On top of that, the torque is ramped up by 100 lb-ft at 2,500 RPM, bringing total torque to a massive 510 lb-ft. This means more low-end power for towing heavy loads, quicker acceleration, and overall smoother performance, especially when you're merging onto highways or grinding up steep hills.

I'll repost this a third time. Someone on Reddit asked about these for the Bronco recently. Granted, this feedback is specific to the 2.7, but I would imagine the results with the 3.5 is similar.

Well, I just switched from a 2021 2.7L Badlands with the FPP tune to an F-150 Tremor, and have 4 years of opinions built up around this so here goes:
  1. It fixes the short shifting of the transmission across the GOAT/Drive modes. I found this to be the priority benefit. I stopped using sport mode entirely after the tune.
  2. Your Bronco today will tolerate 87 octane. After the tune, it will get a bit angry at you if you do this. You basically can't go full throttle on 87 but it'll still work
  3. Your turbos are going to push harder.
  4. The torque increase is more useful for wheeling, the horsepower increase is meh, on road.
  5. Your gas mileage which already isn't great, will go down.

Verdict:
  • Daily Driver - Don't do it.
  • Toy or you're a real enthusiast: Do it now, and you can always back the tune out using the ProCal.
