Fuel economy

Not a 5.0 result, but on a 3.5 eco, going from 87-93 moves my average from 16 to 17.5. Is a 9.5% increase plus I have noticeable power increase. At 15000 miles a year my math shows

87 octane (16 mpg at $2.75/gallon)= $2,578
93 octane (17.5 mpg at $3.10/gallon)= $2,656.

So costs more but more power for under $100/year

😂…..So what you’re saying is that in order to get the MPG that I posted, one has to be and or drive like an old man of which I don’t fall into either of those categories.

Got it youngster.
I wasn't saying that at all, I do believe it was a question...

And I was just being sarcastic. 🤣
No harm no foul.
All good.
Enjoy your weekend.

Scientifically speaking, 93 octane is your best chance from the pump for efficiencies. Economically speaking it doesn’t really prove out after added cost. I ran 93 since day one so I can’t say if anything less would be the same but I could get 700 miles out of a tank for highway trips if I didn’t go above 75. That number is about 600-650 still after my Whipple, strictly highway of course and I’m sure I could probably do a little better if I really tried. Stock I had a 20.1 average
What size tank?

I transverse North Carolina too often and I pay way too much attention to the fuel economy of 5.0 with a Whipple. But still I do it as a challenge and can substantiate several previous points made; right around 20.0 is the BEST I can do at 5 over, straight highway trips, so 75 when I can. 70 and below is significantly better. The wind makes about a 1.5-2.0 diff on mine also, headwind vs tail, so a lil tailwind for anything approaching or bettering 20.anything. My mileage from near day one is sitting on 15.5, which includes quite a few 0-105 mph digs, and over 4000 miles of towing, often ~5000# at 11-12mpg, and damn it pulls good. So I’m very happy with my mileage, esp compared to a similar HP RaptorR or TRX.

Yeah, I'm about to tank my lifetime mpg average with a roughly 3000 mile trip towing over the next 2 weeks...unless plans change (we have an idea where we want to go but it's fluid).

36 Gallon, only option for Tremors. Would love to add a transfer tank one day though.
Much more than that can be a real danger in gasoline but some guys have done that on some older gas trucks. One of our Fords is a F-250 super duty Roush diesel with 64 gallon tank gets about 1,200 miles on one tank. I also have the 36 gallon tank but have only managed about 520 miles per tank. Have not run 93 yet only 91 but will see if 93 will make a difference. It is not very common here in Phoenix to find 93.
