OK, almost 1k miles into the elka 2-3" 2.5 IFP from Halolifts.
TLDR: really good coilovers if you're not carrying a BUNCH of extra weight.
Great: for light to medium trails
road trips/DD
Saving money over remote reservoir
Lift: -3/8 inch at factory setting (+1200 pounds added weight)
Droop: +7/8"
Ride: soft but not spongy
low speed traction: very good
Use case is everything. My added weight in back along with my shock choice in back limits the effectiveness of these shocks. I was riding around with 380 of 1644 pounds available payload. Most of that weight centered between the axles.
I took it up my back yard and it handled the rocks, dips and drops, well. Windrock blue trails were a breeze at low speed. I did run out of flex in two spots but the truck made those easy mode.
I still have my kidneys with the 700 (Canadian) pound springs. They were much more compliant than a set of eibach 700 pound springs which really did make for a really comfortable trip.
So I unloaded my truck (including camper) and things improved significantly. This is why a higher opinion from mid-trip (and why i put them above the non-dsc Fox. With only 600 total pounds added, these did really well on and off road. I did about 90 miles unloaded yesterday and it was definitely noticeable.
Halolifts vs eibach: Halolifts
Halolifts vs bilstein 6112: Halolifts (except in my use case)
Halolifts vs Fox 2.5: Halolifts
Halolifts vs Fox 2.5 DSC: Fox
Halolifts vs Icon IFP: Icon (top on this list, for me)
So I can revalve and respring a $1700 coilover or I can return/sell these and try the AFE SA or Fabtech DL for my rebuild set.
