Heat/ AC issues with temperature control?

'23 Tremor here and I'll throw my hand up here for this as well. One of the first things I noticed actually. My previous truck I would have to have it at 72 during the winter. My wife always thought it was a little too hot, but it was where I liked it (she of course set her own temp for her side). Well I've noticed I've been having to put mine at 68 in the Tremor. 72 was way too hot, 70 was still kinda warm, 68 seems to be okay.

Anyone have any luck here? My dealer cant find any issues. I notice the poor temperature control mostly on longer drives and I am very uncomfortable with a dealer logging miles on my truck, but not sure to do. They won't perform the TSB I posted previously.

A few weeks back driving from SD to Oakland (a 480 mile trip) during the last 100 miles I had the AC on and the thermostat set to 62 and the air was blowing hot still. Very uncomfortable in the car. It was 40F outside.

I don't have any complaints about mine. I have mine set on dual and the A/C level on 3 (the 3 dots showing) and of course A/C selected. When it's a little cool out, I set the temp at 72 and move down to 69 when warmer. With the 90's coming at the end of this week, it will go to the lowest setting and mostly stay there.

I will try to look at the Gen14 forum and see if anything came of that survey etc....it's super rediculous. Best thing I can recommend for now is to run it not in auto mode, supposedly the temp is correct and folks just manually adjust it for now. I'll reach back out on this after I find the conversation on the Gen14 forums.

Thank you! I really never touch auto mode. Hoping to have this resolved before the summer really hits.

Hey all, I'm starting to think there is something with this post, I know a guy had his sensors replaced three times with no prevail. Might be a design flaw I'm wondering there is tons of posts about this.

Circling back here to see if anyone had any success? Took mine to the dealer recently and got the normal "can not replicate the issue". Was very frustrating because I hopped in the truck leaving the dealer and the thermostat was set to 68 and it felt like I had the heater on.

Hey @DirtyMitch, I've read on another forum someone got theirs fixed by getting the heat and humidity sensors replaced. They were shorted out or something. There is so many people with this issue it's crazy, I'm still convinced that something to do with where the sensors are mounted but other people are not experiencing the same as myself. If my temperature outside is between 60 and 70 my auto control seems to work pretty normal. However if it's cold outside I have to keep it on 62-64 otherwise I'm sweating, or one day it was close to 90° here and sunny and I had to have my temperature up to 74 or 75 otherwise I was freezing. I'll look again, I haven't checked in a bit. I plan to visit this with my dealer, I'm going to have to take them on a ride along. There is speculations that the blend door motor needs to be calibrated as well. That would cause the same issue.

Now that it's hot here, I found that setting in the upper 60's doesn't seem to allow the fan to run at high speed. I set the controls to LO and that made a big difference and cooling is very good with outside temp in the 90's.

That is something that seems to work for me as well, but it really messes with the fan speed (without auto turned on).

Just did another long drive last night. Was 47F outside at one point. Had to turn the thermostat down to 62 or 63 to not have it blow hot air. AC on or off didnt seem to change anything much. This really is a pain in the ass. Just wish I had a local dealer that would acknowledge that this is a widespread issue and not just spend a few minute in the truck and say that it cant be replicated and its fine. Just got one of those lemon law notices in the mail. Heard about the transmission issue lawsuits, but this one also mentioned the AC issue. This is really unfortunate, besides the AC the truck really has been amazing. Have put 19k miles in about 8 months without any other issues.

Found a pretty substantial thread on the issue.

Its unfortunate that some people actually recorded the temperatures and still have issues with the dealer. Struggling to keep the car cool enough when its cold outside just baffles me.

I was out a few days ago and the outside temp was showing 102. I have mine set on LO in auto dual mode and all 3 lights showing which puts the fan in high range. I can actually feel ventilation from the seat also.

Finally have a dealer taking pressure and temperature readings from the vents.... of course they say its performing as expected in their controlled setting. Just hoping it doesn't take a complete crap before I am out of my bumper to bumper warranty.

Definitely noticeable. Sometimes 68 and a fan speed of one can feel like I'm in a freezer.

I'm still not convinced that it has something to do with where the temperature sensor is located. I feel like it's up by the windshield now and it gets residual heat or cold which would alter the temperature inside the truck. In the winter I usually have to have it about four degrees cooler than my other vehicles on auto, in the summer now it needs to be on 74 or 75 in normally I'm on 70. Seems like on a day that's around 70° and be in temp everything seems to function correctly so I don't know if there's something to be said about that or not.

If it drops to 45 or below the climate control system won’t blow out cold air regardless of it being on auto or manual. This has been my only issue with the truck but it’s bad enough to make me consider trading it in. If it’s 35 out and I have the air conditioner set to 60 it is still blowing out hot air. Thats not great if you’re roasting driving into the Colorado sun. It seems to only account for the outside temp and not the cabin temp or sun intensity. The only solution is to put it on “LO” which makes it an ice box. Not sure how this design flaw got past Ford’s testing.

Design flaw would indicate that every F150 has this issue. I can tell you that I dont (not sure why), but if I set my temp to 72 and it is 30 deg outside, it will blow hot for a few mins, but then once the cab reaches ~72, the vents start blowing just warm air. Keeps the cab at 72.
