Hunting Rig + Kill Photos 🦌

Lawd that front end exploded

Damn.
Might be totaled.
Maybe, but I kinda doubt it (hope not) it's a '23 with 30k miles, so the total value oughta be pretty high. It was still driveable with just a small coolant leak. After about 300 miles some wires came loose and rubbed the tire until the truck stopped recognizing my key, then it was done. No airbag deployment.

I got pretty lucky considering I was going 80 mph and had a 1200 pound crate in the bed. I really didn't feel much of an impact, all that plastic and the bumper ate it up.

From my experience just losing my '23 402a V8 with 32k miles, I'm only looking at just over $50k, and my truck was in excellent condition. I hope you get more for yours!

Dang, sorry to hear that. I doubt I get more as it's a 401A, but we'll see.

I’m not a hunter because it’s just not my thing but, I have a question for you hunters.

Down here in Georgia in the past 2-3 weeks, I’ve seen at least 10-15 dead deer on the side of the road and none of them had a head.

Is this normal in other states?

Very weird to me.

GA born and raised (hunter all my life) while I will say this is not normal... I do know some folks that may like a bit of taxidermy; also maybe they were bucks and wanted the antlers?

1) were the carcasses butchered? Edible meat removed? It's not uncommon on random backwoods roads for "city" hunters to dump the bones and innards because their trash service sometimes doesn't accept that.

2) Were they possibly road kill? Again, it's not uncommon for someone to cut the head off a road killed deer. Either it was dead awhile or the meat was so mangled only the head was 'good'

3) there are jackasses that shoot deer from the roads, cut the head off, then haul ass before anyone catches them.

It's not necessarily common or uncommon but there are legitimate reasons and certainly less legitimate reasons.

I guess they were bucks and they wanted the head for mounting.
It’s just very weird.

No, they weren’t butchered and I assumed they were road kill but then again, they didn’t look they were hit by a vehicle. As I rolling by one a couple of days ago, it looked like someone just cut off the head and dumped the carcass.
As you mentioned, perhaps people see the road kill, turn around and cut the head off.
Very odd indeed.
