Hi everyone! I'm the developer of CampScout, and I recently released it on the App Store. I built it because I got tired of constantly refreshing Recreation.gov hoping the campsite I wanted would become available.

If you've ever spent hours trying to snag a campsite (or trying to book the second reservations are released), this app is for you.

🏕️ CampScout helps you find and book campsites without constantly checking Recreation.gov.

Here's how it works:

🔍 Find – Search for campgrounds by name or explore an area on the map.

🎯 Set Your Alert – Choose your dates, trip length, and site preferences—even a specific loop or campsite number if you want.

📲 Get Notified – CampScout monitors availability for you and sends a push notification the instant a matching campsite opens. Tap the notification to jump straight to Recreation.gov and book it.

📅 Never Miss Release Day – Recreation.gov opens reservations on a rolling schedule months in advance. CampScout estimates when your dates enter the booking window and can notify you as soon as reservations become available.

🌤️ Weather Included – View the forecast (or typical weather for trips further out) while planning your trip.

The app is free to use with one active alert. If you camp often, CampScout Pro adds unlimited alerts and faster availability checks. There's also a 30-day scan option if you only need it for one upcoming trip.

📱 CampScout is currently available for iPhone and iPad (iOS only). An Android version is already in the works!

🎟️ As a thank-you to this group, here's 50% off a yearly CampScout Pro subscription:

I'm the developer, so if you have any questions, suggestions, or feature requests, I'd love to hear them. I'll be hanging out in the comments and am happy to answer anything.

Would be interesting in trying this when the Android version comes out.
