Let's talk about tunes!

To get an oil change you shouldn't have to remove the tune, it truly shouldn't even void the warranty being as that they worked closely with Ford on this.

That was my thought. I had read somewhere that Livernois is the only tuner (or was, not sure if this is still the case) that could tune the transmission, because the were the only company Ford gave the encryption for the trans too. I'd find it odd if it would void the warranty if they know and apparently are encouraging Livernois. But....if they can, they will.

This I will say service departments can be crooked, they get paid a flat rate for repairs done under warranty, if they can say it's your fault and charge you they make more money for doing the repairs, that's how Ford keeps things honest to an extent, so get to know your service department, always be courteous when you can and in the end it make all the difference in whether your stuck with paying for an engine or whether they cover it. I said engine just as an example.

Ok, I just read the back and forth which is a concern. I’m gonna talk with the service dept first and see what their tolerance is towards modded trucks. If they are receptive I will get the tune and extended warranty. If not I’ll just take it out on my wife n kids

I experience the occasional transmission shift thump from factory transmission settings maybe Livernois improved that and that’s why Ford gave them encryption access. I’ll see what service dept opinion is on Livernois tune.

Not too far off topic but I have the JB4 and love it! 3rd vehicle I’ve ran it on (2nd f150) I love how I can switch everything on the fly from my phone. Waiting on my CVF Titan v2 intercooler and BOV this month to up the boost.
