What's new

Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.

I’m thinking of switching to Valvoline Restore and Protect for its cleaning results
I’m a Valvoline fan, using their Full Synthetic might do Restore and protect at 50k and than switch back. At 23k now, oil change at 4-5k intervals.

$69 at the Ford dealer for synthetic blend oil change and tire rotation. Every 5k miles
right at $109.00 for same , changed my oil every 3k for 40 years , NowFord can do it , and thats the mobil service , 3k to 4 k full synthetic !) old school RULES!!!!

Just wanted to chime in on this. I've been an AmsOil guy for years. In my Ram, everything (except for the trans) was AmsOil. The SS is great oil but I think for the Tremor, I am going to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Couple reasons:

- We all now know the oil change reminder interval on the truck is way too long, 5k miles or 6 months, whatever is first.
- AmsOil SS is great oil, but $16/qt vs $12/qt Pennzoil UP, there is a price difference. Also, going back to point 1, we're changing more frequently now.
- Pennzoil has better cold-flow tech. I live in a climate where temps can go to 0 in the winter.

Now everything else, will get AmsOil. Diffs, t-case, trans, brakes, etc. Love their stuff. Just can't see the point of going with AmsOil SS if I am changing every 5k/6 months.

I’ve been running Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W30 in my Tremor. Buddy had good luck with it in a built motor Gen 1 3.5. 4K miles or so every change.
