New to Tremor Family

Welcome , Have the same truck same color, hard to keep clean ! All my other 4 trucks were black but this color is really hard to keep clean, O well ! But mine is a 24 model . About the smell take it to the dealer and let them check it out, it's still under warranty!! Is the smell on start up or all the time ? Oil Change, It now! Use only Synthetic 10w30 Walmart cheep to buy and filter. I order on line the best buy I can find. This new truck had 24 miles on it. I have changed the oil 4 times and only have 7000 miles on it, so far and it just turned a year old. First oil change was 1000 miles. Turbo Charged trucks , the oil get hot, my father owned Lang Motor co. He said you can never change the oil to much ! I live buy his words. Every 3000 miles is what I did on the last 4 trucks I have had. Never one problem with the motor. I run Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. My son does every 4000 miles. All 4 of my trucks are still in the family. No issues. I put about 40000 to 47000 on them before I hand them down, 4 sons in family. Spark plugs around 38000 to 40000 miles what I do. Fuel system cleaner every 4000 to 6000 miles. From what you say you have the 402A Package ! That's what mine is , Fully Loaded with everything. Well that my 2 cents. Some people don't agree with my, But I don't care what they think ! Enjoy your new Truck , It's a Beast ! It looks like your truck has a 2" lift on the front, can't really tell. Thanks and so glad I changed the oil. I should have changed it right after buying it it. I only put 2500 before changed it and it was black. Either none synthetic or they didn’t actually change it.

Yep it’s a 402 and no lift, certain pictures it looks that way but it does have a rake to it. Generally I prefer level but with this one I don’t mind the rake. Love the color but yes no way to keep it clean. When it is though and the sun is shining it sure does pop.

The smell is only at start up. Soon as the air gets cold it goes away or I just don’t notice it any longer not sure which. The cabin air filter hadn’t been changed since it was bought by the look of it so I am sure that didn’t help. I changed that almost right away though.

Fuel cleaner may be in the to do. Doesn’t cost much so why not. I am running 93 gas now and plan to from here on out. I am on on my 3rd tank and mpg went up about 3. Not enough to cover the extra cost but at least I am running better gas for the turbos. That’s my thoughts at least.

The oil turning black is normal and it’s doing what it’s supposed to do.
All oil regardless if it’s regular, semi synthetic, or full synthetic will turn black after several heat cycles and the mileage has very little to do with said color.
