I moved to Prescott, AZ, a little over a year ago and have gotten the chance to take my truck off-road quite a bit to explore BLM land, the forests, and other backcountry areas. So far, my truck has done everything I have asked it to do off-road in the stock configuration, as long as I pick my lines carefully and take it slow. The only off-road upgrade I have added so far is a set of BFG KO3 tires in the stock size. I put them on about a year ago and have been really happy with them.
I also added a Go Fast Camper, which weighs a little under 300 lbs. I really like using it to go dispersed camping in more remote areas. Now that I have found a few favorite spots that I enjoy visiting frequently, I have realized that I want to get to them faster rather than slower. Wanting to drive faster off-road is where I finally found the limitations of my stock configuration—the stock suspension just isn't cutting it anymore.
Because of this, I started researching off-road and overlanding suspension upgrades, and I came across the OME MT64. Based on the limited feedback I could find, the OME MT64 seems to have received really good reviews so far. I decided to order the OME MT64 kit and give it a try. I have to give a shout-out to @SpaceWhiteF150 ; I've ordered a few accessories from him for my truck over the past few years, and he got me squared away with my OME MT64 as well. Delivery only took two days!
Now that I have the kit, I am going to install the rear shocks first, and then the fronts. I have never installed a suspension system or shocks before, but the rear seems pretty straightforward. If anyone has any tips or tricks, I would love to hear them. As I get the new OME MT64 suspension installed and get a chance to test it out off-road, I will share my thoughts and feedback along the way
