PNP harness for tailgate light bar

I finally had some time this weekend to fully install the lightbar. I have the Redline Parlux triple lightbar WITH the adapter module and the Curt 5 pin trailer wiring harness. Took me about 2 hours to install working really slow. So far no code errors showing on the dash. Reverse cam and BLIS work normally. Seems like this is the only option right now if you don't want to tap into factory wiring. Overall, seems to work with no issues.
So you have the pwm module that you can add at checkout?

I don’t have that and the trailer warnings are constantly popping up.

Also, I’m assuming it’s not any brighter since you are still wiring with the trailer harness. The direct to battery is still brighter right?

Yea, the trailer package module. https://www.opt-7.com/tow-package-module-for-redline-led-tailgate-bars/

I think its actually about the same brightness now and with the direct to battery connection. It's bright enough for now at least. Day 3, still no error codes. 🤞

Still no trailer warnings? If not I’m gonna buy the own module.

I’m now sponsored by Opt7 and was told lastnight that they are in fact working on a harness but the timeline is now October for beta testing and February ‘24 for general sales.

Nice!! Congrats on the sponsorship!

Also, still no error codes. Been driving the truck through rain, bumps, and San Antonio heat.
I want to run a test though and actually hook a trailer up and see what happens. I dont think I’ll have any issues but itll be interesting to see.

thanks, getting some running board lighting out of it. i also have a code to provide people if you are interested in any of their other products.

just order the pwm box off amazon for delivery tomorrow. hopefully i have the same luck as you. i cant wait till October for a harness. I was also considering just making my own. i can source the connectors and make a harness to plug into the tail lights pretty easily i feel.

Running board lights are cool. I still have a set of underbody lights I need to install this weekend..
I didn't know if the taillight plugs were special and had to be programmed or something. I dont think it'll be too hard to make your own harness, especially if you already have one for the front headlights. I assumed it'll just be a matter of finding the right connectors and routing wires correctly.

the plugs don't appear to be special, but that doesn't mean there may not still be some kind of programing required. another reason to just go your route since it seems to be working.

What did you use for the constant 12v power for the pwm module? You run it up to the battery?

Yea, ran it up the passenger side all the way up to the battery. I think you can also splice into a wire on the trailer light connector.

The included wire was long enough or you added wire?

Well. It seems to have worked! Crazy they say it won’t.

Was scrolling through some DIY videos and came across this OPT7 installation vid. I'm going to try the 5-pin set up this weekend. Just an option if you don't want to tap into factory wires. Will report back with results.

I tried the pass through it didn’t work
