Anyone running aftermarket intake on 5.0 with pro power dual alternators? Top alternator seems to be an issue so I’m curious if someone has found one that fits? I emailed S&B for clarification about why their intake doesn’t fit, their response is pasted below. They seem to be the only manufacturer clearly stating that there is a fitment issue, just wondering if anyone has found one that works?
“Our intake tube and the second alternator have a few inches of interference. We make the intake tube significantly larger by dropping it closer to the drivers side valve cover, which is exactly where the second alternator is mounted. There is no way to make it fit as currently designed.
We may come out with a kit specific for the dual alternator trucks in the future but do not have any timeline for that right now. It will require a new intake tube and airbox so it is a significant amount of tooling to do it. I am not sure of anyone making a kit compatible with the pro power kit right now.”
