Tailgate Letters

Where did you get the outlines?
Four19Designs on Etsy. I've bought couple of different things from him, never had an issue. Read the instructions, take your time. I like the outline personally cause it's a little different.

I have the toughsikins on my wife's gray Tremor. But I think I'll use the outlines when my 2025 AMB arrives.

I realized after the fact that there were some decals much cheaper on Etsy. Unfortunately, I joined the forum too late for the group buy. However, ordered the same product from Tufskinz.com (link below). I haven't received it yet. It is orders of magnitude more expensive than the product in the post above from Etsy. I bought it after seeing the picture of @Thrush 's tailgate.

Product: Rear Tailgate Letter Inserts Fits 2021-2025 Ford F-150
SKU: FRD043-TMR-034-M

Model Option: Standard Tailgate
Colors Option: Matte Black w/Tremor Orange Outline

This product appears to be high quality. Yet, I think the biggest reason these are so expensive is that they're an actual #Ford licensed product and so Ford wants a healthy cut.

@Shake 'N Bake, you won't be disappointed I have the tough skins on my wife's truck and they look great. They are raised thick with black centers, and are installed easily.
I'm just thinking of going without the black center and just the pin-line on the AMB tremor. (which tough skins doesn't offer)

I have them on my Stone Grey and they look sharp, good quality.

I bought some decals off etsy and it was hit or miss. The bedside Tremor replacements came out great, the tailgate letter inserts peeled off the adhesive.

Tufskinz just arrived today. It is cold (and will be until April haha) here in Montana so not sure what to do. Probably apply and then heat the them with a hair dryer to get better adhesion.

Matte black going on Avalanche.

Maybe rent one of those propane jet engine looking outdoor heaters and point it towards your tailgate…

I was thinking of picking some up also, but I'm also in Montana. If I have to wait for the tailgate to be 70 degrees as their website says, I might be waiting until April!

I finally received the tailgate letters. They look good. They’re very thick—three-dimensional even. See the pictures below. It’s cold enough now that I’ll have to point a heater at the tailgate and warm it up first. I’ll make sure the surface temperature is within the recommended range. The authenticity sticker for the “Ford Official Licensed Product” has a hologram and serial number. The color in these pictures isn’t accurate because, in person, to my eyes, it looks like the correct color.

Be careful; the number “5” can be accidentally inverted and installed improperly. See the picture below. After a dry-fit test, one of their customers installed it upside down.

I can imagine the scene; the poor guy is taking his time to get it right. Then, right when he needs to be focused on not F’ing this up, someone walks up and distracts him for a few moments. Bam. One hundred dollars of tailgate letters down the drain. Just thinking about it starts getting me riled up.

Oops.😅

Get a spray bottle with clean water, and mist the truck before applying. You'll be able to move the letters around a bit to get them perfect. Then push hard from the center out and mop up the drips with dry paper towels. Then leave the tailgate in the sun to keep it warm and evaporate any residual water. Pro install. The adhesive is oil based, and water won't affect it. (I don't know about using this technique in freezing weather, warm garage and minimal water??)

Ehhh I think my tremor is more “gold” than orange. The color looks a bit off with the stickers :(

I have seen two tremors together and seen a noticeable difference between the colors
