Tremor vs Rebel

Ram has way better cameras than Ford. I can’t figure out why Ford can’t update from an analog coax cable for the bed camera.

Yes, they do. Much clearer, a little less wonky. The absolute worst cameras are GM/Chevy though. My wife has a Tahoe and the backup cam is horrible in the dark.

This is interesting. I came from a 2019 Ram Rebel with the eTorque 5.7 to my 402a 5.0L Tremor.

I can honestly say the Ford excels in almost every category.

Interior: You can't even compare the quality. The Ram is a bit "flashier" interior but the construction itself is leaps and bounds better in the Ford. Better leather, better quality dash, and IMO, a more thoughtful layout. The stuff they do in the Ford is just much more quality and clever. The locking rear seat, the mobile workstation, the paneling on the doors, etc.

Exterior: The styling is a bit more of a toss up. My wife said it best. The Rebel suited me better when I was younger but now she said the Tremor is more "professional." It's still aggressive but more classy. I will also say, they killed the 5th gen 2.0. The Rebel, used to be really a Rebel. Now it's almost just a slightly tweaked Big Horn with the styling. When I had the 19' Rebel, it was bold. Now it's just sort of ehhh. I do not like the refresh of the 5th gen Ram 1500's at all. Now, the 2500's, those are sharp trucks. Especially the Power Wagon.

Motor: I really think the 5.0L is the king of the 1/2 ton V8's. GM, forget it. Toyota, same. Ram is still making a decent hemi V8 but the eTorque is straight trash and they shove it down all the dealers throats. The Hurricane makes a ton of power but they are still having issues. The Ford 3.5 is tried and true.

Suspension/Drive: I will say the Ram Bilsteins are nothing to brag about. They are made for Stellantis and are no where near their proprietary offerings, direct. My stock Bilsteins were shot by 50k. Although I never had a problem with the rear on my Ram, Ford makes one of the best rears on the market. The front Torsen axle is supposedly leaps and bounds better. The only leg up I give to Ram: The ZF trans and ZF t-case. ZF makes a damn good trans and t-case.

Really the only two things lagging behind the Ram in the Ford are the trans and the over-raked stance. Although, they do say the Tremor has a better entry angle for offroad. How? I am not sure.

The RHO is more comparable to the Raptor. Similar suspension, stance, motor, etc. I always knew it as this:

Tremor vs. Rebel
Raptor vs. RHO
Raptor R vs. TRX
i like my v8 tremor and im ok with the rake. Im getting pretty good mileage in sports near 22mpg on flat land and 19.5 on piedmont areas. thrilled with it oter than what seems like hotter trans temps. I am seeing higher temps and im not even towing anything. this was on a 80 day and highway speed and after i turned teh vehcile off. wasnt any heavy foot driving. In my 5 speed suburban 2008 model it only averages 150-160 not towing.

I hate the rake and frankly don't care about the mileage. Eco mode makes for an abysmal driving experience. I get around 17.2 to 18.5 on the highway in sport mode and I know it will get worse when I level the truck. I'll probably leave in just a little rake simply so the truck doesn't look like a dog with worms dragging its ass on the carpet if I put something heavy in the bed or tow a trailer.

Agree with leave it as is.
Not sure other than appearance what advantages a level has.
Approach angle ?
Most of my offroad is done in farm fields and 2 trackers I use gettin to my fishin holes and huntin areas nothing to crazy just mud/snow.
At the ripe old age of 65 appearance just ain't that important to me anymore.
To each their own.

we are on same page and un-levelled angles dont bother me much. i've got other farm trucks i use for dirty workf150 fwd on 35" and 2500 cummins 4wd. my tremor is my hotrod/limo. lol.

The trans runs way too hot. I mentioned it in another thread I believe. Now with the 25-26 having the digital temps, the cat is out of the bag. My 2019 Ram Rebel with the ZF-8 speed and digital temps I can't recall ever getting over 200F towing. I never towed big loads but I towed a small duck hunting boat rig 1000's of miles.

My Tremor, with no load/tow, I've seen 205-210F with mild driving. This is so hot.

Comparatively, here are some figures.

ZF trans in our boat: You're cooked at 180F
ZF trans in my Rebel: You're cooked at 215-225F

There is rumors that the thermal bypass valve is incorrect on these 10 speeds causing them to constantly run too hot. Once again: For emissions...

thanks for this info. I cant imagine what the temps are if i towed a travel trailer or 2 axle boat trailier- 24' boat. i bet temps would be near 250. wonder if anyone has created a bypass mod?

It seems to be a very popular mod on the Tahoes, older F150's, Expeditions, etc. I did a bit of digging the other day but can't seem to find the process/part for our trucks.

Watching some videos online, it seems that when the mod is done, a lot of these trans never get over like 180.

What I will say is you don't want them running perpetually too cold either.

I have a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and the ZF transmission is a beast. They really build nice stuff. Was talking with a friend at a Porsche dealer and the ZF transmissions have very few issues. He could not remember when they ordered or had issues with them. Nice to see it in the RAM!

I got to ride in an RHO at the Firekeepers 400 Nascar race. They had this dirt track setup and 3 pretty nice sized jumps and I will say it was fun and it handled it well. It had me thinking, I don't think I'd do that with my Tremor, at least not stock.
Would you do it in an RHO that you owned? It's a lot easier to do things with expensive things that are not yours.

240F isn't even into the yellow on the gauge so obviously Ford doesn't think there is an issue with those temps.
