What's new

Well, damn - 17x9 ; 35x12.50

To poke or not to poke……..that is the question.

Perhaps a poll should be started.

In my shittiest Australian accent: that ain’t poke…this is poke.

Update here - dropped to a 305/70/17 Toyo ATIII and really like the fit.

No rubbing after the crash bar trick!

Added RC Sport Fenders to cover some of the remaining poke.

Truck look amazing! Sawzall away for the win. Having no poke is like having a flat chested girlfriend. All your friends feel bad for you but wont say anything. Worried about safety? Get a good looking ADD bolt on bumper. They give you better approach angles and so much stronger than what the factory gives you. Willing to relocate your CAC you can even get a winch in there.
0 offset for the poke and the "a pokie" girlfriend? ..... LOL. Cut the inner fender and spread the crash bars with a hydraulic jack a smidge. here is my setup with 0 offset Raceline wheels and raptor take off BFG KO2 tires. At full flex the tire ribs on the rear fender but will not damage it....

Much better appearance with this update, imo. How does she perform when wheeling, any issues with this set up?

Off topic, Fox 3.0s?

Id like to do 17" Defiant DFO4 (5.47" backspace) +12mm offset with Yoko Geolandar MT G003.

Not sure how fitment will go with 2.5inch level.
The G003s are wider on 17s (13.2")
Unfortunate that Yokohama doesn't make them bigger than 295/70 and 285/75 in metric sizes

Just posted some of this on the new "Pictures of Aftermarket Wheels and Tire Set up Thread" but here it is again, FWIW:

Method MR317 18x9 +18mm offset running Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 35" (so 35x12.50 R18 LT) with a 2.5" (ish) front lift from Halo/Elka coilovers.

When properly aligned, I had no rub. The last alignment messed things up so it does rub a tiny bit (just on the tip of the wheel liner) when turning hard and flexed. Otherwise no issues and it looks pretty good.

Yes, there is some poke with the +18 offset, but it's not an absurd amount and I think gives the truck a nice, very slightly wider, very slightly more aggressive stance that fits with the aesthetic of a vehicle designed for some offroad use. This is a truck designed to stand out a bit from the crowd of F150s, with their flush or tucked wheels (not a fan of those pickups with so much tuck they look like a float or a boat), but there's a balance between Tonka truck and parade float.

I'm not compensating. Really. I'm not.

You have a 3.5? Curious whether the mickeys affect acceleration, braking, road feel

I have the 5.0. I don't really notice much difference in acceleration or braking, though these certainly are heavier tires than stock. They're not too much louder than stock, and I haven't really noticed much difference in MPGs, either (though my truck hasn't ever really gotten the advertised MPG, even when completely stock...)

That’s awesome.

That’s awesome.
Thanks! I really like them and how they look, grip, et cetera, but I don't have much to compare them to. I've never used the Toyos or other "offroad-ish" tire brands on this truck so there may be something better out there.

No way…….death to poke! Refuse to let my 70+k truck have the same stance as my gardener’s 91 Tacoma.
Funny. I think the same way. This was my truck when I was around 21….rode like absolute crap, threw rocks everywhere. Poke city. Literally drove like you had rocks for tires. Bad for the economy, bad for the environment lol
