What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Installed a blendmount and got my radar mounted then redid my rear seat storage for the 400th time. Pulled the scissor for a dirtchurch bottle jack mount, didnt like that went to a builtright panel, didnt like that so now its "floppin around" back there.

I've been thinking about that Dirt Church bottle mount, what was your experience?

It’s not bad but I have the Safejack 6ton kit and that jacks too big to fit. I’ll get some detailed pics later but it fits a 3 or 4ton (can’t remember what jack I had there) and the ram on that size is too small for the Safejack add ons. Might be good for a fire extinguisher or something. Had they done the 150 more towards the split with the other seat and tilted it similar to the SDs it would’ve fit the bigger jacks better. Good stuff just didn’t work for my needs.

The Builtright panel was great but you lose like an inch or two between seat back and the cardboard wall thing that has some flex. It was enough I couldn’t fit my 6ton jack or my M12 inflator back there with the panel but can without. Also good stuff just didn’t work for my needs.

So it appears that Ford removed the aux switch wiring chart from the on board owners manual ☹️ so I found a video online of a 2024 adding lights to aux switches. Unfortunately my wire colors don’t match his chart. I ended up just using a multi meter and my #1 is a solid yellow wire.

With all that said, I add the extensions with connectors to my upfitter wires.

How do you like that Safe Jack kit? I keep eyeing it and thinking that would be a simpler way to go. Then I look at the price tag... Story of my life.

They had a deal running a while back that made it hurt less for me. You can get the bottle jacks they use for a little cheaper than they list em if you shop around but not by much (and iirc they modify the rams on the 8ton and up). The extensions are quality and I'd say well worth the money. Their adapter is just 3d printed so if you have access to your own and are handy with CAD you could DIY that portion. I'd say worst case get your own jack and order their extensions/maybe the adapter piece (they'll take dimensions and print up a custom adapter for a reasonable price).

You'll need at least one of their extensions though since a regular 6ton won't go high enough to lift a factory height/33" tire Tremor enough to change a tire.

I have been looking at those knobs for awhile and see other makes too. The link you sent only has blue and purple currently, maybe your post took out the supply.
It is possible. I do remember seeing others on Amazon different prices/materials etc. I settled on these because they are aluminum and they are a "duller" orange so it blends better color wise.

Bit the bullet and installed the bed slide today. I was looking at smaller fridges since the bed is so small. But it is so nice to have a huge fridge and small freezer when we are at the dunes and lake. But it totally sucks not to have a slide.

On my immediate project list once it warms up! 39 day trip coming in May and I love my fridge. Practiced once on the 2014 so hopefully no surprises.

Installed the Husky wheel well liners and sliced my thumb with blade while trimming it to fit…. 👍

Had the oil changed and tires rotated. Had them review a rattle in my moonroof since they replaced the track. Seems like the glass panel itself is just slightly loose causing it but unsure. I can duplicate the sound when pressing upward on the front of the glass panel. Either way, I'll take a little rattle over it leaking!

Not this week, but recently added a stub antenna and matte screen protector. Didn't care for the matte finish initially, but the absence of fingerprints has definitely grown on me.

Oh, I'm going to like this page!

Scheduled Line-X!
Scheduled ceramic coating
Scheduled and placed deposit on RSI SmartCap EVOa.

Saw some discussion on Victron stuff above. My 2014 has a 100A heated LiFePO house battery which supports a camping fridge, power points, and cargo lights. I ran a 6 Ga line from alternator to the back into a Victron 18A(?) DC-DC converter to charge the house battery. Sorry that the StaLink storage rack is blocking part of the panel.

Just have to pick up the truck now (Friday) :).
