2021 Ford F150 Tremor Payload & Towing Specs

Question for you guys ... I am on the fence and might be buying a 22 tremor 402a with the 4.10 torsen and trailer tow package. We're also the proud new owners of a newer sun tracker 22 Tritoon that is going to be delivered this weekend by the seller. This boat appears to be fairly heavy compared to our other boats and utility trailers so I'm hoping that the tremor will be able to tow it just a few times a year (in/out of the water, maybe to boat shop) ... Should I be looking for something with the max tow package or could I get buy with the normal tow package?
Why risk it? You're buying the highest trim truck with options and considering skipping the actual functional option, when you tow. Doesn't make sense to risk over a $1k package imo.

I'm looking for something on dealer lot even if I pay a little over sticker... Not seeing any on lot with a max tow option (if it's available on tremor?) Ok I just built the tremor on the ford website again, don't see a max tow option, just the 1k standard tow option. Which is weird cause I went away and back to the page and the 1k option somehow turned into like a $210 tow option???

I have a 22foot Bennington Tritoon and towed it just fine with my 17 fx4 which had a slightly less tow rating than the Tremor does, it will be fine towing it.

That's what I was hoping to hear, thank you!
No problem, to be honest the Tremor tows it better than the other truck did, the Tremor just amazes me in the fact that Ford shoulda done this truck a long time ago. The total weight of the boat and trailer is around 6k.

Ok next question then... If I get a new hitch what should I be looking for? Want something new and shiny to go with the new truck lmao. I just have a generic standard w a 2" ball right now. I've seen the adjustable height ones I'm thinking I may want cause this truck has a bit of a lift on it while my current one does not..

RotorHead695 mentioned weighsafe hitches in one of the topics, I must say I wound up ordering the 4" version, really like it so far. There's a few others mentioned in the same topic, but 4"-6" adjustable seems to be a good starting place.

I can weigh in here. I ordered the B&W 3 ball with 5" drop, got it from Amazon. Reading your other question, I have a 2022 Bennington Tritoon 22' with Merc 150 and I did opt for the tow package on my order.

Keep in mind the F150 Tremor has 3.73 gears, not 4.10. That is a marketing typo, but important when you start reading the Ford Towing Guide.

Thank you! I'll check it out :) Since these are height adjustable where do you set yours at when you tow your bennington? I realize our scenarios may be different depending on trailer/tires but i'm only used to towing our (well fairly heavy) speedboat and some utility trailers and i just have a standard hitch on my FX4 and it tows fine. (I really need to educate myself more in towing - especially since this new Tritoon trailer has electric breaks)

Thank you! Yeah i have read that they're still 3.73 front axle even with the Torsen up front. My cousin has a 2020 Raptor and said i HAVE to get a Tremor with the Torsens and lightly explained why so i'm going to follow his advice.

Unfortunately, I am still waiting for my Tremor to be built. Bennington stays on the lift if we are not using it. But to answer your question, it would be pretty close to the lowest position.

While I don't have that trailer or boat, I try to run my trailers as level as possible. You'll figure out the notches for your equipment with just a couple tries. As mentioned above, I prefer the Weighsafe so I know my tongue weight.

I also have a Raptor and wouldn't own a Tremor without one.

My neighbor is a Ford dealer and is trying to sell me his 2019 Raptor. I think I am going to hold out for the Tremor though.

My opinion is the Raptor is a superior truck as far as looks and interior. If you don't need the towing capacity or the narrower width, I'd take the Raptor. I'm holding onto my 2018 Raptor unless my towing needs change or the craziness stops with supply chain and I'll move into a Gen 3 Raptor.

The Raptor looks don't really do it for me, but that's just a personal preference. And I wouldn't say the 2nd Gen Raptor interior is nicer than the 402A, but you could probably speak more to that than I can.

Raptor seems like kind of a silly choice for the East Coast anyway, nowhere this side of the Mississippi to take advantage of the high speed the Raptor is designed for. But mostly I am getting the Tremor for the towing/payload as you said.

B&W hitch or gtfo 🤣

Outside of the fact that it looks great, I think it's at a technological disadvantage until the gen 3s start coming out and even then it doesn't get blue cruise, which is wild with how expensive it is. A 2018 is far less equipped as far as convenience and tech luxury as compared to a 402A.

As a poster said above also, I'd feel silly paying so much to barely be able to make use of the speed and power in Florida. Down here it's just for showboating.

I do love the truck and wish I lived somewhere I could justify it though, the look and drive is excellent.

That's my opinion as well, Raptor is a little "played out" at this point. The suspension is undeniably great but I don't have anywhere within 2000 miles to take advantage of it. And the added track width and body kit is just not my style.

I agree the tech on the Gen 2 is more limited. By the time I'm looking at getting into a Gen3, BlueCruise might be back. I'm thinking late 2023 or 2024. And to be honest, I won't be able to use it on most of my commutes anyway...I drive mainly 2 lane country roads, so just a nice to have for road trips.

The lines of the exterior and nuances of the interior in the 402a just didn't do it for me on the Tremor. I spent a good 30 mins at the lot looking back and forth between a 402a Tremor, a 2021 Rocky Ridge F150 and a Gen 2 Raptor. Without the towing needs and having a second trail rig, I couldn't justify it to myself and let my Tremor order go. That decision cost me $1000, so I didn't make it lightly. Keeping the Raptor was worth more to me than the tech upgrade.

Personally I think you get more bang for the buck on the cost of the Raptor than the Tremor, but that is just my opinion on how much I'd have to spend on the Tremor to get it where I wanted. By the time I replaced the suspension and replaced the wheels and tires, I'm in the realm of a 37" package on the Raptors....and with higher end interior, full size spare, shocks meant to handle the larger tires, etc...

Not trying to knock the Tremor at all, I just don't have the needs it provides and personally prefer the Raptor.

I would disagree in that the added track width makes it really fun to drive on back roads in sport mode. It's not all about high speed runs off-road although I do jump mine when I get the opportunity and never slow down for speed bumps.

I live out at the lake so lots of backroads here too but unfortunately have to go into Charlotte proper pretty often, so even if I had an appreciation for the added width it' not really practical. It's nice that we have options between two great trucks though.
