2021 Ford F150 Tremor Payload & Towing Specs

Alright i'm looking on Amazon at the B&W and Weighsafe drop hitches. Outside of the 2" shank should i go for the 6 or 8" drop? I'm assuming 6 would generally work but should i get 8' just in case? Also the weighsafe ones look neat but i'm not seeing that weight readout on all the models? I see them in some of the pictures but not in user reviews or most of the models i'm looking at. Is it worth he extra cost buying the ones that weigh the tongue weight?

(Remember, i'm new to heavier towing - even though my Tritoon isn't THAT heavy i don't want to mess anything up haha). Also, do i need to put a good 500 miles on the tremor before i tow my boats? I've got between 200-300 on it right now and the local BassPro put me on the schedule for Tuesday to bring the boat in to be inspected so i can get the warranty transferred. Crap.
5" B&W. Shouldn't scrape since this truck sits higher, only need 7"+ if you lift your truck. B&W all the way, well worth the money.

Thanks! That's what i went with last night, looking forward to getting it tomorrow :) The only thing that kinda stinks is the adjustment pins don't lock. That's just silly for how much these things cost. The weighsafe hitches will lock, why not B&W? Oh well, just have to hope no one steals half the hitch then haha

I have been running the weigh-safe hitches and love them. It’s nice to know a general tounge weight. Especially on a 1/2 ton truck.

I think they can only take the pins, which could be replaced. They can't steal the ball/mount part without being able to remove the hitch.

Buy the locking pins, someone will steal it. I agree it should come with it, but you can just buy a locking pin. I got the rhino USA one.

I don't think he is talking about the main hitch pin, not the little adjustment pins. Or are you saying you can find locking versions of those?

Yes you can find the locking adjustment pins, they sale them at most auto parts stores or as @Cranbery said order them.

Ahhh sheesh. I bought the big ugly right angle master lock one even though it has bad reviews. We have the another version of that and it's been fine so far. I don't want three more large locking pins on the hitch, I guess I'll wait till I get it today and look at it to try and figure out what I can do without making it look too ugly.

In all honesty I think I'd rather just buy a replacement set of these if they are taken than put three bigger locking pins on it with large ugly locks on em. So the adjustment piece and the ball mount stuff can't be removed from the main part of the hitch because it's all molded together?
Correct. You would only lose the pins.

If you look at the first post I linked those are much smaller and as I stated there are a bunch of different ones on Amazon.

***Sorry for the wall of text! haha

I need to mess with it more when the wife gets home but i received the 5" drop tri-ball B&W today so i installed it before she had to leave. I put a single silencer pad on it (Cause 2 won't fit when i push it in to the second hole ugh) and i noticed that the single rubber pad totally stops the ball mount piece from being able to be lifted up all the way and out. Though it's just rubber... when she gets home i'll take that rubber pad off and see if that IS what is stopping it or if i'm just good without it as well. (someone could cut off the rubber pad if they figured it out).

I also hooked up the new tritoon to it before she left and went back and forth in the driveway a bit in the non-steep section just to check it out. Could barely tell the thing was even attached! Impressed. Doesn't seem to be much squat with it loaded on the truck either. Though where the boat trailer mounts to the hitch ball has me slightly weirded out right now. I feel like the ball doesn't go super deep into the coupler and when i look underneath the plate that is supposed to wrap under the edge of the ball a bit doesn't extend down very far. It definitely SEEMS to be in the coupler as far as it will go so it might be totally fine but it makes me feel like the trailer could pop up and off if i hit a good bump or jar the trailer harshly at a stop or something. Is this normal? haha kind of freaking me out.

Tried to mess with leveling the trailer and figuring out which position to set the drop hitch at but my driveway is a bit slanted so it was throwing me off and i was in a rush. It seemed low in the front on the bottom most position so moved it up one notch and that seemed better as far as the overall trailer being level back to front but the coupler piece on the front of the trailer itself is kind of cocked upwards (?) It has hydraulic brakes on the trailer and the coupler piece that slides back and forth to activate the brakes almost appears bent to me. I don't think our ski boat trailer that has similar brake setup is slanted up like that. Don't have the ski boat here at the moment to double check it though.

Curious if anyone has towed a bigger camper with their tremor. Looking at a 30’ camper with dry weight of around 7k lbs. I won’t be towing often at all; mainly keep it at our recreational property but I’m sure there will come a time we want to tow somewhere. No experience with bigger campers but I’m assuming add on 1-2k lbs of weight for everything in it is safe so looking at upwards of 9k towing.

Unless you are just towing it once a year you would be happier with a 3/4 ton.

So because i had the dealer do the spray in bed liner i am getting the infamous "reverse backup braking assist not available - see manual" or whatever the error is. BUT today i went to actually pick up and tow back our ski boat from the boat shop, turned on the truck and looked down to see a NEW error "Trailer Brake System Fault - See Manual" ... errrr what? That's new. AND the truck all of a sudden keeps telling me it can't connect to my phone wirelessly even though it IS connected and Android Auto is functional. Not sure what's going on but i don't like it haha
