2022 F-150 Tremor 402A :: F-150 LED vent lights with Starkey adaptor

I am not sure what the issue is here.

I installed the F150.com vent lights and the raptor grill light at the same time. I used the adapter from Stage 3 Motorsports and put used one adapter on the left side which went to the grill light and then spliced into the adapter for the left vent light light. On the other side, I bought a second adapter and just used it for the right vent light. Cosets about $30 for the second adapter but I didn’t spice anything into the factory wiring. Works great. Just make sure it is the harness for the LED bending headlights. https://www.stage3motorsports.com/4732-21-22-f150-starkey-grille-light-adapter-led-lights.html

Side vents look nice! Cant wait to add mine. How did you mount the LED, it is bright so I assume you mounted on the outside of the vent?

Congrats on the Tremor! Wires are located behind the battery closest to the quarter panel. Easier access to remove battery.

New Tremor owner here, where do I find the under hood ends of the upfitter switches?
Under the passenger fender behind the battery. Should be 2 bundles, ones hot and one goes inside. There is a thread on here with pics and more details.

Easy access to the bundles from under the passenger fender liner. Makes it easier to have to remove the battery and tray as per owners manual.

Are these adapters available in Canada does anyone know?

I would imagine they'd ship to Canada. But, if they don't I'm sure we could two-step them up to you.

I wish the leads were packaged a little better. A nice little upfitter box would be a nice place to make connections. I suppose they're better than nothing, but they also look rather thin. Are people running lights directly off of these or are they commonly being used with relays?

most of the lighting i have done has come with a wiring harness that included a relay. so i have incorporated additional relays in and essentially use the upfitter wires are triggers.

depending on the lighting though, you can use them to directly power the particular light.

i made a whole power panel to distribute battery power to my accessories and trigger them using the upfitter wiring.

Very interested on what that panel looks like. Did you make a thread for it? Even though I don’t immediately have plans, I’d like to add a few lights and an ARB twin pump eventually.

here is the thread i made detailing the planning and then execution of the design.

Custom Auto Works has a 3 led grill light and a 5 led All lighting products are lifetime warranty

I have the same one and unfortunately it's not 100% waterproof. The light will flicker, go dim get bright go dim get bright. If it wasn't such a PITA to install I'd put a new one in. I had a hell of a time reaching behind the grill on the right hand side. And now, the mounting screws for the bracket are all rusted and wont come out. IDK what to do at this point. Maybe just unplug it and leave it be as is installed, just not functional. Sucks, but what can you do.

Did anyone do an install where the lights could turn on when DRL's are turned on but also be turned off with an upfitter switch?
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this is my question also. I don't know how to use an upfitter switch to "interrupt," since the those switches are powered.

On another forum/different situation I saw this - would it work in this application?

The actual switches in the upfitter assy are a low current switch; all they do is activate a relay located under the dash (4 relays on a panel). Easiest way to do what you want would be to get another relay -$4-5.00 or so, wire the coil of the new relay to the upfitter switch and ground, then break the wire to the clearance lights and wire them thru the normally closed contacts on the new relay. With the upfitter switch off, lights work as normal, turning the upfitter switch on causes the lights to go out (Thanks to "Alchymist").
