2023 Tremor to come with 5.0 standard 🤯

I always wondered why Ford doesn't put twin turbos on the 5.0l.
It would be too much awesomeness. 😜

Seriously though, it could be a packaging issue even in a truck - that 5.0 is a wide motor.

More likely an issue with having to beef up all the other driveline components to handle it (and cool it). Can you imagine what a good tuner could do with a TT 5.0L?

Lot's of discussion but have not seen anything about this. Maybe in another thread or something. And I'm a diehard 5.0 Coyote fan but for my mustangs.

If you think the 5.0 Ford is putting in the trucks is the same as the past, it certainly is not. I did not see anything on this thread about cylinder management and that's what you get in all Ford trucks with 5.0 now. There is no way personally I'm putting a 5.0 in anything with cylinder management. You will run on 6 a good part of the time anyway. Ford has done that before but this is a new generation, do not want that garbage on my power plant and way to early for new tech. My connection into what Ford is doing told me this just last week. So far, not seeing issues with the cylinder management but time will tell.

You could get a tuner to tune it out, but there goes your warranty.

Cylinder management in a V-8 is just as stupid as auto/stop/stop which I deleted in my 2022 Tremor order. I finally got my email a couple weeks ago for build week Aug. 22nd. Excited

I'll leave the g-force adrenaline rush to my mustang and the 4x4 fun time to the better power plant for the application the 3.5. I could care less about the exhaust note on the truck.
:)

Ecoboost is now an optional “upgrade”
For Canada it's different... the 3.5EB list as standard with 5.0 V8 optional. (W1E)

I have 2023 F150 Tremor 5.0 on order in Azure Grey 402A package... trading in my 2022 F250 Lariat Tremor 7.3.. I like my truck but I don't tow with it and little on the big side for my 5ft 4 wife.

You let your wife drive your truck??

Kidding.

LOL, shes the one who bought it.

Don't feel bad I have to let her drive once in a while......when she does drive it the fuel economy goes to crap in a hand basket. Apparently she likes to hear the whoosh of the engine and the sudden acceleration. Like you she's the one who decided I needed a new truck, after I spent $700 doing new brakes on my last one. Don't think I'm complaining, I still think it was a setup so she could get her timberline, like I would have said anything anyway.

I was watching a video recently and they commented that the 5.0 has had issues, but didn't go into detail. Just mentioned oiling. The 3.5 has 90 ft Lbs more torque then the 5.0 so I'm good with that. I've owned 5 vehicles with the 3.5 and no issues with any of them. Also had a 14 Mustang with 5.0 and no issues there either, but they were better then.

Just a tough situation for me as I like my 2022 SD Tremor with 7.3 (4:30 Gears), but 5.0 (3:73 Gears) will get better fuel mileage than SD... feels like I have more truck than the F150.

Pros for F250 is:
- Analog / digital cluster
- a lift without that rear rake
- better engine IMO 7.3 Pushrod
- better paint option Rapid Red / Stone Gray
- more engine space if you need to replace spark plugs and water pump, etc

F150 Pros:
- nicer exterior and interior
- don't care for the 12 inch screen cluster (More stuff to fail later)
- a lift with that rear rake (Leveling kit is not recommended where I live)
- tighter engine bag
- Torsen front diff vs my SD Limited Slip Trac-Lok
- a little lower so my wife and get out better

I have the F150 on order, I may just keep the order and make my decision then.
