295/70r18 vs 285/75r18

Thanks.

I’ve got a set of 285/75/18 waiting for me. Just trying to determine if they will fit on factory ride height, or if I need my level kit put on first.

Was hoping to do tires then level, so I could hsve shop align post level.

Anyone know if 285/75/18 fits on factory wheels no level?
If you plan on off-roading IMO, no. If you are only street. Very little off-roading, I’d say they should be okay. Going with the 295/70r/18 isn’t much smaller and it works in all conditions

I'm specifically trying to choose between Falken Wildpeaks 285/75R18 or 295/70R18. My Grabbers have around 36k on them and I'm in need of an upgrade. I plan on switching to Eibachs coilovers but I'm going to wait for their 2.5s to come out. You think the 295/70s would fit better at stock height?

I was going to get Falcon's until I found out the 295's are made in China. No thanks. Went with M/T Baja Boss A/T. Only negative is they are HEAVY. But look awesome and are silent.

More pics with those!

Tbey are almost double the weight of grabbers. How much can you tell with acceleration, stiffness, braking, mileage?

Curious if the 305s will rub or if the stock wheels are too narrow.

Accel is slower for sure. MPG went from 16-ish to 14-ish. stiffer yes, but air is at 37. I need to drop them and see how they ride. Braking slower too. But they look bad ass, are quiet, and great in snow slop and wet roads. 74 pounds vs the stockers which were about 20 less.

Let us know how the ride is with lower air.

Did you consider the 305 at all?

Yeah I have the 295 Baja boss on a 17 and it’s 72lbs, you can feel it when you get on the gas. Upside is these tires are the most durable i’ve ever wheeled. I’m not worried about getting a flat at all.

Will do. I ruled out the 305 as they’re not rated for a 7.5” wheel.

PNW, what pressure are you running? Discount tire pumped mine up to 37.

Long roadtrips I do about 40-45 just to save 1/4 mpg or so.

Around town I’m sitting at 35 on all 4.
