87 or 91+ Octane? MPG/Performance

We are blessed to live on the lake, so we are running through about 20 gallons a week most of the summer. So those increases sting. Love to see prices go back down but I'm not holding my breath.
I live 1 mile from the lake so I feel the pain, my son loves the tube and the 150 Yamaha loves the ⛽

Mine can't tube yet but the Merc 150 is just as thirsty. :)

Ouch! Sadly that's what happens when we let countries that hate North America control the prices...
That and NAFTA but that's another discussion for another forum.

Has anyone added a fresh air intake to their tremor?
see any MPG difference?

I get my Tremor next week and thinking of changing to after market.

if someone has done it which one you recommend?

One I saw with good reviews is the Rousch.
Dealer said they would install anyone I want for free so why not?

Premium here is only 30 cents more than regular. Interesting that prices vary that much between grades.

Based on that price I would need just over 1 MPG improvement to break even. Will have to test it out. Sounds like most people are not quite seeing that much of a MPG improvement with premium.

Hey at least we can pump our own gas.

Is this a thing in some states? Ive travelled through half of the U.S and never encountered this.
Yes, its mostly illegal to pump your own gas in Oregon. (Some rural areas can now though)

The worst is when I drive to another state, get some gas, and sit in my car like a jackass for 5 minutes bitching about how bad the service is before I remember I have to get out do this myself.

When did this come into effect? We would travel down through Oregon at least once a year and I don't ever remember not pumping my own fuel.

How old are you
Not that old 🤣, I just can't for the life of me remember not pumping my own fuel haha. Maybe I was too buy stuffing my face with doughnuts in Portland, sorry Chaz.

I believe Ford measures it’s horsepower ratings with Premium fuel.

So a better way to think about it is, you are giving up HP by NOT running Premium.

My litmus test for spending money on something is, "Can I blow this much a night at the strip club?" Running premium fuel is a no brainer for me.

Been that way my whole life here. I lived away for 7 years and got used to pumping my own. It was hard to return to letting the lowest common denominators of society touch my vehicles again.
