Adding Auto Start/Stop

A bit off topic; I'm curious about the door ambient lighting. I bought all of the components. How hard is the install on those? Is there a tutorial anywhere?

It honestly was excessively easy…the door panels are only held on by a few bolts then you pull the panel off the door as it is held by clips…several videos on YouTube show how to do this.

I attached three photographs I took of the back of one of the door panels. The first is what it looked like before removing the white material; second with the original ambient light harness without the strip light and the third with the new ambient light harness. The strip aligns with mounting locations at the cutout in the door panel. I used #8 3/8 inch pan head screws to secure the strip at the mounting locations and everything worked great after putting it back together. You can do each door in approximately 15 minutes…I took my time so it took much longer (OCD). It really improves the interior experience at night.

I also added the media bin, cupholder and glove box lights using a custom harness I purchased from another F150 forum member on another site. If you have anymore questions, feel free to PM me and I’ll give you my number.

I ordered the switch from the local dealer for $42…if it is not possible, I will at least no longer have a blank button lol!! I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way…

There is a section of the transmission that held line pressure while in AS/S, and it's my guess that this was the actual reason for the removal. It's a whole other solenoid assembly.

That's what I'm afraid of...I'm hoping someone has some technical insight as to whether these components were removed as part of the auto start/stop delete or if it is standard components.

Did you ever resolve anything with this. I want to try an enable it on my 2022. Also where did you get the custom harnesses?
