I guess it is hard to Quantity an opinion, so I understand where you're coming from. But I'll defend my statement and you can judge for yourself if it's "huge."Yep, familiar but do not think 10-20 hp is a "huge" difference so was curious on the comment. The step up from OEM DP to aftermarket across just about all platforms are in the range you quoted but my thought for "huge" would by a 30+ up bump.
First, as previously stated, it will be the biggest bolt on performance upgrade and with a tune can produce 25+ hp; but we'll stay in the 10-20 ballpark to be safe. Dont forget, it's not just the hp but similar numbers for torque as well.
Second, a downpipe in turbo vehicles bolt directly to the turbos. So, they are the biggest possible helper for back pressure, the closer that back-pressure is to the turbos the worse it is for your performance (And if you're already tuned you're already creating more back-pressure). Along with this, reduced back-pressure will mean a faster turbo spool and thus more power quicker.
Lastly is sound. It means very little to some of us and a lot to others, but downpipes will play a pretty significant role in the sound of your truck, especially combined with the cat-back.
All of these things together is why i said it will be a "huge" difference. There are few, if any at all (none that I can think of) that offer so much for a vehicle in a bolt on package and for the cost. CvFab, the same ones who make the IC, will also have downpipes this year and previous gens were around $750 which with a general code is 712 to your door.
TLDR
Everything combined is a huge deal.
- 10-25+ hp AND torque
- back-pressure relief
- faster turbo spool
- exhaust sound
- performance/price
