COTremor Build

That's really what I am looking for - thanks for the feedback man. I'm gonna see if I can be an adult a wait 6 weeks but if not I may grab the Eibach and call it a day. I also got the M&R light bar in today so that will at least keep me busy this weekend and I won't think about ordering the lift yet. Cheers!
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the eibach kit but from what I’ve read the halo kit is a quality kit as well with solid customer service.

For the price, the Halo should have a better warranty.

I heard back from livernois, they did say that the ASS eliminator I have installed was likely causing some issues with the tune as @deepblack mentioned above. Concerning hard shifts, they recommended adding fluid to the transmission. It makes sense but it’s also a bit of a pain. I don’t want to blindly add fluid and doing a check for fluid in these transmissions is a total pita, especially without a lift. I’ll do it soon before I add a quarter quart or more. Currently still running the stock tune.

The ASS eliminators just emulate the button being pushed. If that causes a problem with a tune, one would think that simply pressing the button would also cause a problem with the tune. Seems unlikely to me.

Definitely sounds like a stretch to me and I don’t see how said device could or would affect the tune because wouldn’t it be the same if the OP was just using the OEM switch to turn the feature on or off.

ASS is a very complicated function that requires multiple bus messages to multiple modules. It does more than start the engine back up, it keeps everything prepped to start back up, monitors battery state and power usage, AC, etc to decide when to start back up. The 4d device remembers the last setting when the truck was shut down and sends a message on startup to get back into that state. If the function has been turned off in the tune, the modules won’t be expecting any of those messages. They “should” handle this gracefully and some of them do but some of them don’t. It’s a real issue.

Livernois could put just the transmission back to OEM in the tune… if they are willing. Their shifts are stronger and adding transmission fluid won’t help. If shifting was an issue due to low fluid, you would notice it on the OEM tune. That said, it’s never a bad idea to check the 10r80 fluid levels.

Checking the trans fluid level on modern vehicles is a royal PITA.

Yeah but... if that were really the issue, with the Livernois tune simply pushing the button on the dash would send the exact same signal and the tune would have to know how to handle it without imploding.

This seems highly unlikely to me especially given Livernois' several decades worth of Ford tuning experience. They were in the game back in the late 90's and early 00's when had a 1998 Mustang GT and a 2003 Mach1.

While it may seem unlikely to you, I had a Livernois tune and this exact problem. Uneven idle, AC dropping out while driving, and a 4D tech device. In my case, removing the 4D tech device fixed the issues. But however it seems to you must be right

The tune and the ASS eliminator being an issue does seem plausible, we’ll see. I want to check the trans fluid before even loading it again. When the tune was on, the ASS button doesn’t even illuminate as off even though it is disengaged.

Info from my experience. The rough idle sounded to me like the ac compressor was kicking on and off slightly upsetting the idle each time. It could have been something else but there was a load being applied to engine and then taken away. While driving, the ac compressor would just stop working so I could feel the air getting more humid and warmer as outside air was pulled in. Then for no reason I could figure out, it would just start working again. When I called Livernois support, they basically said they hadn’t seen that and it wasn’t caused by their tune and asked what else was modified on my truck. At the time, I had several FORScan mods, the 4d tech ASS eliminator, and a 4d tech device so sync would let me do non moving things while I was moving. The start/stop was the easiest so I pulled off the glove box and removed it. The tune started working correctly immediately. Still a little firm on the shifts though. I never saw any of the symptoms running the OEM file.

I recently installed boosted grey goose’s shifter harness to gain functionality of my paddles on my raptor steering wheel upgrade. The install wasn’t too bad - dealing with interior trim pieces is always a pain. If you’re doing any trim removal work, do yourself a favor and get a 4140 pry tool. That bad boy is amazing for removing trim without damage. Here’s some pics of the chaos.

Funny man. I probably would have went with halo as well if they had what I was looking for in stock. They’re right up the road from me.

The 2R kit feels really great so far. No more boat feeling like the stock setup. The ride is much tighter with less body roll. I am feeling more road imperfections but it isn’t to the point of it being annoying. It feels really nice and much more planted. A big improvement over stock. I haven’t taken it off pavement yet.
I'm strongly considering the Eibach 2R kit and also the Borla S Type on my 2025 5.0. Were you happy with the overall stance and ride of the 2R? And what are your thoughts on the S Type? I'm specifically worried about how it sounds and feels with Cylinder Deactivation. Thanks in advance.

Have you played with the paddle shifters yet? Do you have to shift over to manual for them to work?

Also, where did you get your Raptor steering wheel from?

The low frequency of cylinder deactivation comes right into the cab. It was something that I couldn’t deal with. However you can drive in sport or tow to deactivate it. Or get a tune. Or buy the hptuners device and license (~$600) and turn it off yourself, it’s dropdown menus.

Borla S-Type on a 5.0 is awesome. Makes me smile every time my truck starts or roll down the window in the neighborhood to listen.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

It won’t allow you to shift through gears without hitting the manual button, although, you can lock out higher gears (eliminate 10, 9 etc) if say you are coming down a mountain without hitting manual.

I got it from ford parts when they were doing their 20% off accessories sale.

I honestly drive in sport 100% of the time so I haven’t even experienced cylinder deactivation, glad @deepblack commented on that.

The 2R kit is great. Install was relatively easy and the ride is much tighter now. I do wish it would have resulted in a bit more lift to level out rake a bit more but I think it would only come with a sacrifice of ride quality. As long as I can stuff some version of 35s into these wheel wells, I’ll be happy.

As for the Borla s type, I’m biased but I think it is the best bang for your buck as well as exhaust note available. It rips pretty good on cold starts and is virtually stock sounding when cruising 80 on the highway. I’m sure the corsa kit is great too but dollar for dollar I’d say it’s hard to beat the Borla s type mid section.
