What's new

Dash Cams

I have the following.
Just wired the rear camera with my Smartcap. Had to order an extension wire for the rear camera but it works well. No issues. I've also hard wired (kit listed below) the camera with a voltage regulator to prevent the system from draining the battery.

I use the Viofo A139

I probably need to make some adjustments now that I put ceramic tint on but here's some clips for example:

I had this same question for years now as I personally know master mechanic friends that confirmed the dealer and manufacturer can absolutely go over video footage from incidents and check engine lights, etc.... all recorded and uploaded...
I call BS on this. The OEM 360 cameras DO NOT record video.

Only US manufacturer I am aware of that does this is Tesla. Kia vehicles in South Korea have this function, but the cars they sell in the US do not, which tells me the manufacturers seem some sort of liability they are not willing to take on in the US.

I hate BMW drivers 😂
💯
Don't even get me started on the chargers,cts-v's or wives in their lexus etc bobbin and weavin thru traffic, with a weedeater engine and a popcorn muffler chitbox trying to keep up with them 🤣🤬

I don’t understand why the onboard 360 cams can’t function as dash cams to begin with.
I figure they are working on it and related to their patent to report others for breaking the law.

Today I ordered a Thinkware U3000.😎

It's near the top rear glass. Used an extension wire for the rear camera. Routed the wires with the 3rd brake light wiring in the cap.

Thanks. I was in too much of a hurry to get everything up to MT and settled for the license plate bracket mount. Actually, it's working out well and the Wolfbox 900 has been flawless. Love it.

This one looks about as factory as one can get. Installs in minutes! Had one on my Gen 6 Bronco Outer Banks and and my Ford Escape. $169 bucks on Amazon.

THINKWARE U3000 4K for the win. 😎

Here is some video I got the other week on my Fitcam:

There are higher res options than the Fitcam, but it does the job and is almost unnoticeable in the cab.

I'm going to throw my name in for another FitCamX recommendation. I have just the front in my 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport and it was super easy to install, so just got the Front/Rear cameras for my Tremor. The front installed in about 3 minutes and the rear installed in about 10 minutes. Just so easy.
