Drive Modes for Best Gas Mileage?

Interesting. My family was 2 Rams prior to my 2019 and had the exact opposite experience as yours. Had a 2003 2500 with the hemi and it was already doing about 14-15 back then and moved to a 2009 1500 hemi TRX with 3.92s and was doing 18 in that on 35 duratracs with a full bilstein system front and rear. Mass production is so weird how it can differ so much with the same parts from the same places and have two completely different outcomes.
Yep. Different fuels, roads, applications. I probably had lots more idle time putting around job sites and such. And my ‘21 ram had 3:92.. not 3:91 like I said before…FWIW.

I'm tickled shitless with the Tremor...my 3400lb NA 6cyl gets 14mpg highway in normal mode lol. Tremor pulls about 16-17.5 putzing around in normal on 93. Not really what some would call city and not really highway either...was horrible for the first tank or two though.

Eco feels best on highway - the shifts arent as much of a pain in the ass and the decreased throttle response helps the foot not get tired/fine adjustments available. Normal, as mentioned, seems to have it's shit together on gear selection so works best for me around town. I half wish Eco was just the trans behavior of Normal with the throttle of Eco. Haven't quite figured out Sport/getting it to lift shift after a pull instead of engine braking...makes me wish I had paddles. Haven't had an auto since the AOD with a shift kit in my old ranger though.

19.3?! I’ve never gotten above 15.2

I’ve been upgraded to 19.4, and I sit in Atlanta traffic everyday.

12k-ish miles on the truck now and lifespan average is 18.2mpg. I have not noticed a significant difference between Eco/Normal. The thing I find that impacts mpg the most is the adaptive cruise control as it's constantly trying to maintain that perfect distance to the car in front. So if I'm in any amount of traffic with variable speeds from the car in front of me I don't bother with cruise anymore and that's made the biggest difference in keeping it above 18 consistently. If I take a side road to travel where the speed limit is like 45-ish I'll easily be over 20 for that portion of the trip.

Western WA unfortunately is hills and mountains and I live at the base of one so I rarely get to drive anything flat. But so far I'm happy with the MPG.

Interesting seeing this thread since I’m fairly new here but I’m running 285/75R-18 Toyo MT with a lift and King coilovers. I have approx 3K on her now with one long road trip that I got 15.something on Eco and cruise set at 70. My average is running normal mode with combined driving and trying to stay out of the pedal my best is 14.5 mpg. Once this dam rain stops here in SoCal I’m interested in seeing what it will do on the trails. But I least I know it’s not me. But I have no idea how anyone is getting close to 20….

18.8 on 800 mile road trip from Arizona to Colorado (lots of hills etc). Made the same trip in my 4runner several times and averaged 16.9. I have been very happy with my gas mileage so far. I have a pretty heavy foot .. So nice to make only one stop for gas when I used to have to make three.

Been running on 91 octane, but i got around 16 mpg average only when I've driven interstate for a winter vacation on Normal mode...other than that my average city/hwy is about 13.7 and I'm not heavy on foot at all. Only mod I have is a 2.0 lift puck and a rapid air induction.
Im amazed how other 3.5 ecoboost get so good mileage!

Just over 2500 miles and sitting at 19.6 mpg. I run ECO mode on highway and normal when I am in city driving

Do you turn it off at every stop, because the last time I went thru Atlanta my mileage dropped.
It is definitely brutal, I try to keep a coasting distance so I don't have to stop every 5 seconds. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast

Man I don't know shit about trying to save fuel mileage I just bought this truck with 300 miles on it but I'm getting 13mpg can anyone help me out on what I might do to help me improve mileage.

Seems folks with lifts are really hurting mileage. It’s really hard for me to get under 19 on the highway… 17 is my average combined

Just filled up this afternoon, here’s my last tank. Not terrible for 35’s. Didn’t tow at all this tank and run 93.

remember to subtract 1.5 mpg from the lie-o-meter to approximate a hand calculated mpg
I think my post right above is actually pretty accurate, when I hand calculated it I got right about 16 but with the bigger tires, it think it works out about right.

Y'all blow my mind every time these threads pop up. I get 15.5 downhill with my foot off the gas on 93 and a tune...Insane lol. I know I'm an aggressive driver, I accept that. But you don't have to rub it in 😆
I'm on normal and run a heavy foot and I'm rolling 16.8 right now at 5,500 miles. 60/40 split on highway. I do like to get on it from time to time, though.

I just broke 1K and am at 19.6 by the computer calc in the truck.

For reference, mine is only 0.4-0.6 optimistic. There is a way to offset via forscan but mine is close enough to not want to mess with it.

I'm sitting right around 16 all stock, but not really a light foot.

I'm at 16.0. I mostly run Normal. Sport mode around the winding roads and mountains. I do use Eco on the turnpike and highways and such, not sure I've noticed it helping all that much though to be honest.
Up to 16.6 now just over 5K miles. Everything stock. I don’t use fancy gas though because I own a bus company (regular fuel for vans) and just fill up at our station.
