Front License Plate - Relocation?

yikes i was only 14 no license driving a rusted out uninsured 4wd tercel through "farmland only"
Cool, points for making me feel old! I turned 25 and bought a 2006 Nissan 350z (insurance dropped for males at 25 back then so I bought a sports car) she was my first love, before wife and kids!

I’m in Texas and haven’t had one since 2005!
I have to have one in Utah as well. My comment was a reference to the first gen EcoBoost that no one got. They started out with the license plates put off to the side for more air flow to the CAC. Now they have shutters that actually limit the air flow and the license plate was moved to the center.

I went ahead and ordered the relocation bracket from Mishimoto. I'm going to install it this weekend and hope that it doesn't interfere with the parking sensors🤞. I'll post an update once it's all buttoned up.
I got around to installing the relocation bracket from Mishimoto, and I think I'm going to go a different route. The bracket has to be installed on the underside of the tow hook to prevent interfering with the park sensor above which is fine but I think it just detracts from the overall look of the front end.

Glad you said it not me lol only problem is idk where else it could go.

Ok bought me one of these this week. Working on a passengers side mounting idea. I'll keep you all updated with what I come up with.

For the CA owners, here's license plate wrap. Took about 3 weeks to receive, way better than dead center in front. This is one of three legal types of front plate.

Has anybody relocated their front license plate? I don't like that the license plate blocks airflow into the intercooler, I think its a poor location for the 3.5 EB motor.
I'm in one of the states that requires a front license plate unfortunately so looking for ideas that look good to stay league here. I may still just not put it on anyway....
I know in Nebraska will give you a sticker to put on windshield rather than the front license plate.

Ok, as promised here's my relocation result.

I ended up ordering 2 different plate holders from Amazon. In the end I pretty much only used 1 of them (the less expensive one 👍) but did use the black metal frame from the other. You could probably order it separately or use a different frame of your choice.

You can see I placed a small amount of self-sticking foam padding where the bracket plate bracket edges are a little far away from the bumper cover because of the curve of the cover.

I do recommend using some sort of metal frame or maybe every smoked out plastic cover over the plate to help strengthen the holder... As for me... It is often subject to wind speed over 90mph 🤫

Here are the links to the plate holders:

Fantastic work! This is exactly what I’ve been thinking of as well. Thanks for the links and how to!

Is the plate only held in by the bottom two holes? Is that enough to keep it secured? Thanks
Looks good I think I'll be doing this one as well, even could put some sort of quick diconnect system incase you need the tow hook!?

Bringing this back to the top. Anyone use this one from Builtrite Industries? It mounts to two existing holes over the tow hook and looks like it can be easily removed when you go off-road. https://builtrightind.com/

Drilled the holes in mine, happy with the mount and still having access to my recovery points

I don’t have park assist sensors up front but it’s adjustable as hell, easy to make sure it doesn’t interfere with anything.

Great! Thanks for the input! Ordered one today!

Okay, finally got the Builtright bracket installed. Looks good and no issues with sensors. Also, good access to recovery points as Chief2Slo noted. Now there’s room for auxiliary lights! 👹
